Noob question about Denali for sale

I wouldn't rule out the Denali; yes I am biased cause I have one :) . The 5.3 is a great motor, but even though you are towing a small trailer, if you are getting a truck to tow, I would still go with the 6.0. The Denali also has a slightly upgraded transmission, I think it is the same size as...

    Memorial Day

When you are out towing all your toys this weekend and doing all the fun things you do, don't forget those that served so you can go play. Maybe visit a soldier's grave, fly a flag, or just shakes one's hand and say "thank you". Thanks to all the service men and women, who fought and died for...

2001 Tahoe 5.3 Runs Rough at times, At my ropes end!

You could use a temp gun and take the temps at the inlet and outlet of the converters, if the temp is considerably cooler on the outlet, there is a good chance it is plugged. If exhaust was free flowing through it, the temps should remain fairly consistent. I would also try another dealer...

    tow/haul

Yep, it seems these wires were installed stretched from the factory and is often the issue. Short story: I have a couple buddies that are Honda techs; we were on a road trip in one of the friend's 1500HD and his T/H button wouldn't turn on, when I told him it was probably the wire running...

    your honest opinion please.

Agreed, any dealer/wholesaler/etc will tell you that. And in some cases (mine) people pass on the vehicles. Not trying to knock the OP, just giving my experience with friends that are wholesalers and dealers, and mine too.

Bad idle after big 3 upgrade

I don't think a bad alternator is going to give you a rough idle. I am not sure what you did with the wiring, but my first step would be to undo it or go back over your work very carefully. Double check the grounds with a voltmeter and make sure you have good continuity.

For all you steering experts, a question.

You could very well be right, I never worked on this area of this truck, what you describe makes perfect sense. I was just giving a warning as people have done it on other cars. EDIT: I reread, and yeah the pitman arm does, but I think the input to the steering box is a shaft with splines, but...

    Oil leak

I can appreciate taking care of the vehicle, I have a couple friends that give me trouble about doing routine maintenance. In this case, just know it might be a problem and keep an eye out. I hope not, but you never know if someone will steal your truck, total it out, etc, for one reason or...

For all you steering experts, a question.

ATL hit the nail on the head, you have to make sure you are centered. If you are not centered, and just take the steering wheel off to fix, your steering wheel traveling too far to one direction can pull wires out of their connectors in the steering column. In many cars, there is a bundle of...

    Oil leak

A leak is a leak and nothing fixes itself, but if you can slide clean cardboard under your truck and it wont leave one drop overnight, I wouldn't worry about it. I would just keep an eye on it, when you change your oil.

    Expedition

Agreed, it's a baby. Check the fluids, and take the basics (water/food, radio, gun, ammo, check spare tire/jack, etc).

double post from electonics regarding system voltage

I have owned my Denali for over a year now and it does the exact same thing. It used to drive me nuts, but I've never had an issue and like you, assumed it was regulating it's output based on usage, or that the gauge was a typical GM POS gauges (these trucks are notorious for bad gauges). Have a...

Need some advice about tow packages

6,800 is heavy for a long tow on a 5.3. You won't get a straight answer, cause some will tell you they pulled a 100' yacht through the mountains and some like to bring a gun to a knife a fight. IMHO if it is struggling, it won't last long, your better off getting something more suitable for...

    Finally got some new stuff.

I love that first pic, nothing better than some camping. The Yukon/Tahoe is the ultimate camper, good on road, lots of room, lots of power and decent off road (enough to get you off the beaten path).
