We are about 1/3rd of the way home on our 1200 mile trek across America. I opened the rear windshield with the key fob to grab something. When I closed it, it didn't close. Instead, the windshield flew up onto the roof! It had slid off the hinges!!! How could this have happened? Fortunately, my wife and I were able to wrangle it back onto the hinges, but what holds it on the hinges?
I suspect the dealer didn't reinstall some clips, but I don't know. One Christmas, the rear defroster solder joint failed, and the dealer put a new rear windshield on. Regardless, I'm very disappointed. I hope it didn't scratch the roof. What is even more amazing is the amount of time between the repair and today.
