It was 23 cans, I don't think they sold it by the gallon when I did this 2 and a half years ago.

PlastiDip

Hi y'all, sort of off topic....love my '07 Denali....no need to plastidip it yet. My daughter, however, hates the Rescue Green of the Jeep Unlimited we have. How hard is it to plastidip a car? Home project or pro job?

Its not hard at all I did the Tahoe by myself, only thing I would do different is use a sprayer instead of the cans

I want to dip my hoe electric lime green ASAP. That's the closest I've found to the ford "gotta have it green" and yes it is very addictive. I did some interior trim and redid my grill this weekend.

So what are everybody's opinions on how it lasts long term or better yet should I ask what is considered long term for plastic dipping?

After almost a year its a little hard to peel off but does come off. Also depends on your climate. My climate beats paint and dip pretty hard.

Plasti dip is one of the stupid phases of modding.

It looks bad after it fades in the sun after a few months.

Been there done that. Look gay after a while imo

Paint parts or powder coat them.

My dip was HARD to remove. That why I turned against it.

If you clean and take care of dip it lasts pretty well, well at least mine has.

I will say the white looks better long term.

Does adding the glossy topcoat help any?

Idk but I imagine it would.

Have a buddy that dipped his mud truck and it has stood up to the abuse he has put it thru. Although he applied about 9 layers of that stuff. Still looks good. He used the glossifier on it also. Been on there for about a year now.
