Just picked up a 129k suburban, the dealer I purchased from decided a "fix" to a stock flex pipe exterior braid failing (not leaking) was to cut it all off and cut the after 3rd CAT Ball socket flange off and weld a flexpipe directly to the cat and into the stock muffler with a new flex pipe and extension. So now I have an old exhaust that is welded directly to the Cat/ypipe... FML. I'm looking at potential catbacks but now that mine is welded they won't work and I would need to fab something which isn't and issue. I love playing with exhausts on all my cars so buying a MBRP doesn't make sense. I need at least 409 SS living in CT with the winter/salt. I've seen Catbacks for 07-14 silverados in "stainless" for less than $200. I would feel fine fabbing up a front section with probably a Vband to connect. Then I can swap out mufflers till I'm happy and still be under the cost of the MBRP. Does anyone know if the Silverado catback has the same overaxle pipe as the yukon XL/Suburban?
