I dropped the Guzzletron off for an oil change, tire rotation, inspection and diagnostic on the weird heater problem.

Burned out my ignition coil, in the middle of an intersection at 3 in the morning just two blocks from leaving the house for work. And I chucked my ported TB.

but it got smogged with excellent results I might ad.

changed my ORIGINAL bilstein shocks with some monroe reflexes. 66k miles , 14 years old , original shocks.... wow. changed out the air filter which was filthy. i wonder how many mpg i was losing. will eventually put in a volant , but the stock will do for now. i hit the front end grease fittings, and rust-oleumed whatever spots i could find underneath. looks damn good for a 14 year old chevy down under there!

I hated the reflex shocks. I had them on for a whole week before I put Bilstein HD's back on. I've had them on 3 different Tahoe's and I won't run anything else.

just from some limited test driving , they seemed like my old ones, but a bit firmer , obviously since they are new. was there any particular aspect that made you hate them? i havent had them on the highway yet, but dont have a reason right now they would be bad. i do normal driving , no real offroad or anything.

They weren't horrible shocks they just weren't what I was looking for in a shock. The ride felt to bouncy and I didn't like how they handled to sort for my liking, but I'm very particular about stuff like that so you may love them. I just love the way the Bilsteins ride and handle.

I was running the msd drop in replacement at the time. For now a basic replacement is in there so the MSD 6245 ignition box is disabled for now so i dont burn up the replacement for now. I am looking into putting in a stronger coil pack from msd that I can mount elsewhere off the engine
and leave the stock type one there and use as a backup if the primary fails. it would just involve switching two connectors.

Waiting for my DDM HID headlight kits to come. According to USPS tracking they are just sitting in China, and it has been over a week since I ordered them :bs: So in the meantime, I used the 3m lens renewal kit to get rid of the nasty yellow cloudiness on my headlights.

After: (I still needed to wash the excess rubbing compound off lol)

About 50% brighter with just the stock halogens after I did this.

Got a wheel alignment (shop), changed the steering wheel sensor (me), driver door now no longer opening with a shoulder bump so that is next, and STILL waiting on my DDM HID kits (after 10 days) :banghead:

changed oil and filter. mobil1 high milage 5w-30. added half a bottle of rislone to work the boogers out.

ok , so WTF is ith the location of the oil filter on the fwd ?? of course the thing was on there tighter than a frogs ass. i didnt have a filter adapter to fit , so i used , or tried to use vice grip filter pliers but couldnt get enough bite. ended up having to puncture the filter with a screw driver and turn it. friggin messy:insane: couldnt the engineers come up with a better way than that 90 degree adapter? if anybody has a "trick" im listening... something that should have taken me 15 min turned into an hour.
