Well picked this up yesterday. 4.8, auto trans, 4x4. Interior is mint after cleaning it up. Body needs rockers but the rest is solid. Picked it up for $800. Has new brakes all around, new u joints as well. Going to be a fairly slow build depending on funds..

Short term plans-
Fix small things like door handles, windows and blower motor resistor
Change fluids
Replace rockers and get rid of the rest of the rust
Plasti dip black
Tint
4/6 drop with spindles, keys, and flip kit
New balljoints, tie rods, pitman and idler arm
New shocks
BB tune, intake and exhaust

Long term plans-Summer 2013 most likely
TBSS replicas in gunmetal
Denali style grille and headlights

Future plans-who knows when
Built 6.0 with 4l80e, 14 bolt rear end. I if I end up selling my tahoe, i may take the built 4l65e out of it and throw it in the truck. Its held up to a 6.0 in my heavy tahoe, so it should be alright in the light rcsb

lol its actually solid as ****..needs rockers, cab corners are solid, doors have no rust, surface rust over the wheels on the box but its solid underneath, that will be taken care of with a wire brush this weekend. Other then that, there is no rust on the body..guy in town is gonna do the rockers for 250 and im doing the rest.. bed is like new as it had a topper on it, engine bay is super clean as well

ya it was a hell of a deal..was gonna buy it last year, but the kid wanted too much..came up to me in the bar and said 900, got it for 800..couldnt pass it up

definatly pumped for the build..been torn between slammed on 20s with a 6.0, or lifted..i have one slammed with a 6.0 already, so im thinking lift it for now, find a 6.0 build it and swap it in this summer..should be a fun cruisin/hunting/whatever truck

You should lift and camo wrap. These look good wrapped and lifted..black 18s on 33s or 35s and the black rollbar in the back.

I say drop it on 20s w/ the 6.0 but that's just me. I'm keeping an eye out for something similar, might even trade the Yukon for it.

well that was the plan, but i kind of want something i can take hunting and shit..it will prolly get a 6.0 no matter what..also im doing stock flares on it for now because the box is rusted over the wheels, so that will cover it up after i cut the rust out. Eventually when I get a new box and get it painted I may drop it down, we will have to see what happens

Little update. Final plans are a 4/6 with completely new suspension, built 6.0 and 4l80e. Truck should be a fun cruiser, high 12s in the quarter for now. Not sure what im doing for wheels, either some stock 20s or some TBSS 20s. Need to decide on color before i choose a rim if not going stock

Parts showed up today

Moog front end parts -tie rods, pitman, idler, idler bracket, camber kit, sway bar links
Powerstop calipers and d/s rotors,EBC 6000 series Green Stuff pads.. still need to order for the rear, wasnt sure if I was keeping the 10 bolt or not

Drop kit on the way- 4/6 from Tony- DJM upper and lower arms, Belltech SP shocks all around, flip kit and notch

Motor plans- LQ4 with 243 heads, 23x/23x cam, injectors, lifters etc..headers into a magnaflow with a 3" cutout
4l80e swap with a 3600+ converter
Keeping the 10 bolt with a tru-trac..should hold up just fine since most launche will be in 4x4

RCSB's definitely look cool. I prefer lifted over lowered, but it sounds like you're going to do it right.

My father bought a 2000 model with a good body last year as a beater.... unfortunately, he didn't check the frame as well as he thought, and we found that the entire frame was rotted through between the bed and cab. Has me gunshy on getting one as a project

Got the bed off yesterday. Tore all the brake lines off, spare tire, hitch, calipers, rotors and basically everything off the frame. Going to get it cleaned up and some paint on it. Got the t bars unloaded and the keys out, pulling the front end apart tonight. Ordered rotors and calipers for the rear as well, I didn't know if i was keeping this rear end to start, so that stuff is on the way.

Depending when everything comes in, im hoping to have it on the road within 2 weeks. I should have everything painted and cleaned, just waiting on parts to show up and install them. I think i saved about 100 lbs just from rust and dirt falling off the truck lol

I wanted to lift it, but i want something thats fast and handles good. Ill save lifting something for when I get a new daily.

Suprisngly only broke one bolt and that was the one that holds the brake line junction on to the rear end..everything else came off pretty decent. Think i saved 100 lbs from dirt and rust falling off lol..
