2/3 Drop Installed, DIC Blues (With Photos!)

I FINALLY installed my 2/3-4 drop kit from Tony today. 2008 Suburban, 4wd, non-autoride, 1" spacer. Aside from some concerns about the ride height (already talked with Tony), the ABS and Stabilitrak lights are on and asking for service. We checked the wiring and it all seemed to be connected right, so is it time to hit the dealer to pull and clear the codes? Or is there another solution? I'll post pics tomorrow if this friggin rain ever stops.

Id unplug and check the connectors for the wheel speed sensors. You might have a bent pin or not properly seated.

Ian you're running a 2" spacer, right? I measured in the garage last night and found that my rear end is sitting about a half in lower than my front; not the look I want. I talked to Tony and he said I should let things settle first, but I'd still like to end up with a slight rake for that aggressive look. I'm willing to wait a little while, but I'm thinking about ordering those 2"ers just the same. Thoughts?

Ok so current measurements are:
LR: 33 7/8
LF: 33 7/8
RR: 34
RF: 34 3/8

I think I'm going to order 2" spacers for the rear, but we'll see how it looks after things settle down a bit.

You guys are making me nervous about putting the kit on my 07 with all the Stabilitrak issues on these trucks after lowering them.

The truck does look good though. I'm a sucker for a lowered Burban

the only thing that has to be done is unplug the front wheel speed sensors. The rear dosent have to be unplugged, but you need to unclip them so the line has slack when you lower the rear to put the kit in.

Thanks again Ian. My buddy (a mechanic) is going to take a look. I also noticed the stabilitrak seems to be engaging during tight right hand turns, maybe left too, can't remember. Anyhow, the look is starting to grow on me, but we'll see how it looks when I put my new rims on in the coming weeks. Kevin - it's not that big of a deal and it seems like there are ways to make sure the problem doesn't happen and if it does, we can fix it. DROP THAT SUCKER!

The kit is sitting in the garage waiting on me to have time to do it. I'm also a mechanic but I don't want to deal with any issues since its on the wife's truck. And she has to make a hard left turn everyday on the way to work. :emotions122:

Hey just wanted to update you guys. Great advice all around...I got my buddy to check the codes and yes, we had knocked one of the sensors loose. He popped it back in, and we were done. Now she corners great, and the handling matches the looks.

How do you like the ride? I read somewhere on this site that lowering the Burbs or XL's that the ride is different from a lowered tahoe or yukon because of the extra weight.

Our Burban rides fine. No issues here. :)

Yep mine rides great too. Basically the same as stock, minus body lean. I'm not much of a "spirited" driver any more, so I haven't pushed it too hard, but it's been awesome so far.
