Hi Everyone, I'm thinking about purchasing a 2 - 3/4 front rear drop kit from belltech but I have questions to make sure everything is compatible.

1. Can I use Bilstein 4600s or 5100s with the Belltech kit? It comes with shock extenders I believe , but I'm not sure if it'll work.

2. Are the Belltech SP shocks good? I don't want the ride to be too harsh. I want it to still soak up small bumps and imperfections in the road, but give better stability and confidence when cornering.

3. I was told I need HD rear sway bar links and HD rear bump stops to prevent side to side sway and bottoming out. Is this accurate?

I appreciate the input and knowledge that you all can impart onto me!

Assuming you’re using spindles up front and springs out back. For 3” your on the edge of being ok. Some folks trim their bump stops. At 4” you’re into the territory of other considerations like sway bars or free travel mods. You’ll definitely need shock extenders. Are you keeping auto leveling in back? If your kit is for a rig with auto leveling the springs are very soft so the right shock is crucial. Always consider that you might load the rear with stuff or tow something.

Thanks for the response. I'll try to address everything you mentioned.

1. As far as trimming the bump stops, I believe the kit comes with shorter ones so it shouldn't be a problem. They are 2.75" instead of the OEM 4".

2. I think I'll keep the drop to just 3" and not use the 4" option it comes with.

3. I think the kit comes with shock extenders/relocation bracket. Are those the same things?

4. I plan on removing the OEM auto leveling. The Belltech kit comes with a new spring, so I was hoping to use the Bilsteins with that new spring, or get opinions on how the Belltech Street performance & Nitro Drop 2 shocks handle.

5. I don't plan on hauling heavy stuff very often, if ever. It's less of a concern for me, just a daily that I want to lower a bit.

I hope this is useful context and I've linked the kit I plan on getting from belltech (shocks included if I decide to use the Belltech shocks)

Sounds like you’ve got it figured out. If your kit comes with drop shocks you won’t need the extenders but you will need resistors for the rear shocks or to pull that fuse. Yes the shorter bump stops are fine.

@Joseph Garcia snd I returned to the stock rear setup with the right shocks and springs bc the ride without it wasn’t very good. However you, like others, feel the ride is good.

Be sure to post some pictures before and after. Don’t forget to get an alignment.
