For what it's worth, I bought the Gruven HD mirror motors with the metal gears already attached so I didn't have to wait for epoxy to dry.

I haven't had any issues out of mine in all the years they have been installed. No binding, no hiccups.

I wish my '08 LTZ had an option to automatically fold the mirrors when parked.

I didn't know that was a thing. but nah, gotta manually hit the button. unless there's a setting I don't know about. either way if the truck isn't on, one will stick and error out. so I'd rather it not do it after shut down
In the DIC you can scroll through the menu and find the park assist and door lock/unlock functions, tilt/fold mirrors is one of the options you can check.

they should never be out of sync unless one was pushed closed or pulled open and the button has not been touched again
you can go push the fold-in button, if one is not folding-in then manually fold it in, then go push the fold-out button and they both should fold out/fold in/fold-out/fold-in
but typically when they start messing up the gear is slipping.
It starts out happening random then eventually gives up the ghost.
one way to tell is get a helper and then have them push the button while you are close to the mirror (ear right next to it) and listen, if you hear a whirrrrrr noise and the mirror does not move then that is your clue. if there is no sound then the motor took a crap.
That passenger side is stuck closed. Feels like I’m going to snap it off the base if I try to open it by hand.

I’ll have to give it a try when I had someone else in the vehicle.

I would just hit the local junkyard and grab a used motor assembly, you will need some star bit's (w/extension), punch tool, pry tool.
good way to practice taking one apart as well.

Would you pay for a set of the Gruven HD’s?

How loud are they?

I will have to look thru.

I have seen the tilt option but not a fold.

Not only would I, I did pay for them... lol

I wouldn't say they are necessarily loud but you can hear them for sure. I don't really remember what the stock ones sounded like, but as mentioned, it isn't like you are folding and unfolding them constantly so it isn't really a big deal IMO.

It's in there. Sprayed everything above it with Fluid Film to keep the rust goblins at bay.
Fluid film with a misting crevice tool is the way to go. Or Tranny fluid works as well. I don’t think fluid film smells as bad.
You have a link to that cover? I missed what that pump is for.

What’s the check for a rear main leak versus just oil cooler lines? Pull the inspection plate at the bell housing/flexplate and check for drips up high?

I know for sure the cooler line(s) - at least one of them - is leaking, plus I’m 99% sure the connection at the engine is as well.
