To answer your question. No that is incorrect the Allison 1000 5 and 6 speed bolts up to the 8.1l gas engine in the early 2000's 2500 truck and the Allison 10L1000 bolts up to the L8T in the current gas configuration 2500's same bolt pattern across the board.
Ah. So I’m hearing the forum here needs to sponsor me to do an L8T + 10L1000 swap?

Exactly. And to top it off add a Hellcat supercharger on top.

I still want to know if anyone knows why Powertrainswap isn’t answering emails… guess business is that good?
I think they're understaffed to handle the work load and the emails and call logs.

There’s another company that’s been doing 10l80e 10 speed swaps also.

Custom ECM

(I don’t have Facebook so not sure how far that link gets you).

Not sure if they’ve done any GM full-size SUV’s, but they have done an F Body Camaro and a Hummer H2. I think they’re a little newer to the 10 speed swaps than PSS.

Thanks! I’m reaching out to them to see what they can guide on because they seem a lot more responsive based on the Facebook page.

I’ve been digging around on Custom ECM’s Facebook page. I think Powertrainswap is still the only game in town as they developed most of the swap “kit” and Custom ECM provided the coding to keep the truck happy and factory fresh. Still researching.

I guess I just need confirmation on what I need to do to have the 10L90 attach to the L96 then pull the trigger on the Powertrainswap package.

10L90s are getting cheap on the second hand market out of 2024 HD trucks.

I believe the transfer case needs an input shaft change if you have a 6l80 right now.

I have the 6L90 not 80. I think that’s what I understand as well. Issue is I’m not sure I’m confident enough to do the swap myself so I have to make sure I have all details prior to showing up some place. We all know a general shop or custom place will likely say “not possible.”

The input shaft change it easy on the transfer case I've done that several times over the years. Last one I did was in my 2010 sierra to bolt up to a 4l80. As far as the rest of it good luck getting anyone else to touch it. I couldn't even get a shop to put the 2020 sierra brake setup on the front my 2014 sierra 1500. Or the 2018 camaro ss brakes on the rear. I had to kick the wife's car out the garage and do it myself. I believe it's only around 7k for powertrain swap solutions to do everything for you.

Yup. Seen a few ppl say that. I’m willing to spend the money and travel to them but would like them to respond first and discuss with them…. I’m ridiculous, I know, that I want to talk to someone first LOL

Makes sense. I don't think they just want you showing up at their door step hoping they can squeeze you in.

Re-upping with some new info. Got a response from Custom ECM and they said the 10sp should bolt right up to a LS with only the top most bolt not lining up. Leave it out and you are good to go. 6L90 in my truck might even have the correct 6 bolt flex plate but that might be the only major modification/addition needed.

6L90 to 10L90…. This is looking more and more appealing than a 6L90 rebuild.
