Only bad news is you have to drive like you've a passenger with motion sickness for the next 500 miles.
After that, party down ...
haah easy enough to knock out in a few hours.
I'd actually turn it into a personal homework assignment:
Drive like I'm auditioning to be a chauffeur for a client susceptible to motion sickness, for the next 500 miles.

On a separate but related note:
Breaking in a set of numerically higher axle gears ought to make it plainly obvious that
better axle gearing protects the transmission from unnecessary / redundant shifts,
especially after the tune accounts for the new axle gearing,
leading to a longer-lasting transmission.

incredibly enough I was a airport shuttle driver at one point and while not a chauffeur exactly I also picked up and dropped off customers, military personal, etc
I never really pursued it as a career, being I personally drive like a maniac and that type of license carries stricter penalties. i.e. you can't have both a class C/B/A independently.
you know one for work and one for personal, that would be sweet though I could drive miss daisy for the right money...... then do a burnout on the way home :driver:

When I started out livery driving in 2003, did reasonably well averaging $20/hr PLUS vehicle operating expenses.
Last client that paid me FULL WELL ... paid me $40/hr in 2018 to drive the Rolls-Royce Phantom he rented for me, and gave me a card for operating expenses.

Since then, very few clients have ever come CLOSE to that generous offer, so I nearly stopped chauffeur-ing in 2019;
and uber/lyft/via crowded out the rest of the taxicab market by artificially depressing prices, so I totally stopped cabdriving in 2019.

Any of you guys know of a good scanner or if the GDS2 will scan for the trailer brake system error?

I know there’s a thread about the topic but it seems to be undiagnosed. I’ll be commenting there too

GDS2 will yes but have you looked under the vehicle for anything obvious? there is a module in the rear back passenger side that likes to break off it's plastic holder and dangle and/or rest on the exhaust pipe and then melt wires.
but otherwise could range from a to b as to what the issue could be, I would a good visual look to start, check for any corrosion, pinched or rubbed wires.

I honestly just keep forgetting to get under there. A few years ago I unplugged the module and blew out the connections with compressed air. It seemed to have stopped but now this summer it started up again. It only goes off after long drives. Sometimes erratically sometimes not at all.

Like this morning it went off twice. But then we just drove to the shore for 1.5 hours and nothing.

Next time it goes off try adjusting the gain all the way up. A few weeks ago mine wouldn’t stfu and i did that and it stopped.. hasn’t happened since. Not saying its a fix but if it shuts it up…

Drove it to New Mexico. Hottest transmission temp was 169 while climbing out of Roswell.

Finally got some much needed maintenance done after the 6000+ mile road trip last month. Got to borrow my friends lift too which was much easier than doing this on my back on jack stands in my garage in the Arizona summertime.

Changed motor oil (Driven DI30, wix filter).
Changed transmission fluid.
Changed transmission filter.
Rotated the tires.
Gave her a full wash and detail inside and out after the sun went down.

Feels good to have that done and know she's ready for another road trip.

In the process. Took several 100mph wot runs, checked for leaks. Should be good to go.

Any of you guys get a high pitched chirp sound when you accelerate?

My 15 Yukon Denali 6.2 has always done this. From a cruising speed, if I speed up, i get like a quick chirp. I swear that I read somewhere that the exhaust has a flap for AFM mode but mine is deactivated.

Tried to record a video but all you hear is wind.

go back a page to post 4343, I did end up having to order a longer 6an line for one side the 36" was not long enough I bought a 54" which was more than enough but a 48" would have worked fine
