Installed the window.. Things. Have always had frameless doors, so, these were fun to put on, since I've always wanted them.

Almost useless since I don't smoke, anymore.

Waiting for Amazon to inspect the AOS I returned (accidentally bought the 21+ version, doh! ) so I can get the right one..

Your 2020 RST was the performance version with 6.2 10 speed combo right?

What symptoms did you have with your 107K mile 10 speed that made you think it was on its last leg?
I thought the RST was the Escalade or Denali with Brembos.

Not quite. It is possible to get a K2XX RST with the standard 5.3/6 speed combo; Where the RST is simply a visual “trim” package with blacked out grill, window trim, and some badges.

The RST “performance” (I think?) adds the 6.2/10 speed drivetrain to the RST model.

The more you know….

I definitely assumed all RST’s were equipped with 6.2s for the Chevy line.

Looks good!

If you work in construction these are a must have in my opinion. You can leave the windows cracked so at the end of the day your vehicle isn't hot as hell from the sun beating down, and if the weather changes and it decides to rain you don't have to worry about you're interior getting soaked.

Thanks!

It was hot, here, and while I did follow the instructions - including little cardboard wedges on the windows - I ended up using AC most of cure period, until date night, which was to our new favorite drive-in, where I realized I HAD to roll the windows down. So, instead of 72hrs, they got 48ish.

It'll probably be OK.

IMG_1974.jpegShop says high pressure fuel pump over pressurized during failure and bent the fuel rail. Thing feels damn solid in hand like it would take a lot of pressure to bend. Is the scenario the shop presented a solid one?

well all those scratch marks tell a different story, according to info online that rail is designed to hold perhaps 10,000 psi without bursting, normal fuel rail psi is 500-3,000 depending upon engine load. I don't see how a pump designed to put out 3,000 is going to fail and produce triple what it is designed for, that makes no sense. gm isn't exactly known for "over designing" things
but anything is possible I suppose, I could see over designing the rail to prevent a fire, but making the pump go extreme crazy along with it?

My uneducated guess was something external.

I have the fuel pump as well I believe. It was explained that one of the springs in it malfunctioned as best as I remember.
That was manhandled by the tech.
Definitely my thoughts. I was wondering if this should have been determined when initial HPFP diagnosis was made.

They used a prybar to yank off the fuel rail for some reason ? What was the car in the shop for to begin with ?

@the 18th letter yeah I call B$ on that story from your shop regarding how your fuel rail got bent.

Depending on the existing relationship with the shop/mechanic and what type of relationship you want to continue to have with them that can be a sensative situation to approach. How do you tell someone they’re lying without offending them? This might warrant a face-to-face conversation...

They took responsibility for the replacement of the fuel rail, (I had some type of coverage with them that I was unaware of), but the description they gave me on what happened was suspect imo.
