Rained again this week, daily. However, sunshine all next week. They came and picked up the remaining 48' of 18" rcp, the structure, cast iron grate, and the energy dissipating headwall today. That should finish up the drainage at the back and they can start with the mass grading/site balance.

With my dad's stuff next week, I'm not sure how much I'll be out there. After the services, Steph and I are going to get away for the weekend. Probably head up to Kentucky in Camaro and enjoy some back roads.

if you stop at any liquor stores, just lmk. I'm still looking for some missing bottles for my collection. MWAHAHAHAH.

Enjoy the ride. That sounds like a peaceful trip to clear your minds. Part of me wants to get another Huracan to enjoy some mountain roads up in the TN/NC area. Always been a dream of mine to unwind with the sound of a roaring V10 through the mountains.

What you looking for? I won't be in bourbon country but my friend owns a liquor store. At Christmas, Buffalo trace was sold out everywhere and he had cases of it.

Stopped by the land on our way home from shopping.

They've burned most of the brush and made a ramp to get the excavator down to get the base prepped for the new catch basin and pipe.

You can see how far off the property line they were doing the cut, on the left side. They cleared the underbrush and smaller trees to the property line. They also cleared the same way where the house will go, but I failed to take pictures.

Another 16' or so of pipe will be laid and then connect to a basin. There's 12.5' height difference from the top of that pipe to the bottom of the valley. After the basin is installed, the pipe will follow the natural bottom and end with a headwall. All of that area will be brought up to grade.

Not much, but here's a few pictures

I've probably laid about 16' of pipe in my day. Not bragging--FACTS. Coming along nicely Tyler. Can't wait for the house warming party.

always on the hunt for allocated bottles I dont have. My old man just got me Jack Daniels 10yr yesterday. All I need is the 12yr and I'm done with those.

Would LOVE to get my hands on Eagle Rare 12yr. Thats been dropping at the distillery but I heard it goes super fast.

Down here in West Palm Beach County,, it seems, all Eagle Rare is out of stock everywhere....

Gotta know when places get their allocations. I can get Eagle Rare pretty much any time I need it. Heck I have 4 bottles sitting here now. It's a really good pour and I used to be my go to. I've been doing Angel's Envy Rye lately, Jack Daniels Barrel Strength Rye, and Elijah Craig C924 I just finished.

The ER 12yr just released last week. There's been lines that go out to the roadway at the Buffalo Trace Distillery. I think the odds of getting it is pretty slim, but figured if anyone in the area knew anyone, I'd raise my hand at buying a bottle. Its only money, right?

To me..... If I want something...... and the price isn't "life-changing"..... Then I deserve it.

( As per budget ) ;)

He said he has 17 year. I'm assuming you have that already

I just bought a bottle of new Amsterdam last week. Does that get me into the upper class circle?

That one I have. Pricey bottle. :)
He said he'd check on the 12 year for me. He said he thought the 17 years was $1,700 right now, and he has all the Pappy if you need any of that. I asked which one, he said all of them.

Idk anything about this expensive bourbon. I drank some eagle rare that was some sort of special something. Tasted like lighter fluid to me...

LOL... I will admit my palette has changed quite a bit over the years with some stuff I would normally not enjoy. I paid $1100 for my 17yr. I have yet to open it. I just did it to get all the Buffalo Trace Antique bottles for 2024.

I've got all the Pappy as well. The 15yr is the only one I've opened. And it is delicious.

Another little update. They have cleared trees and started moving dirt. These pictures are from the guy out there working.

Not sure the total count on trees, but he said he's probably taken down around 300 so far. Mostly smaller ones.

This is cleared to the property line on the side. Front yard area is cleaned up some, and nearly to the back of where the house will sit. Best I can tell anyway.

He sent these last Monday.

these are from today. He's burned most of the timber but couldn't get the fire started today to finish off this next pile.

He started moving dirt and realigning the driveway. This cut is around 5' deep currently. He said that's about halfway to where it needs to be. He left enough room to do a 2:1 slope to the property line.

I'll try to ride out there this weekend and check it out. It's hard to tell much from pictures
