I really want to know how it's going after the swap, as far as the transmission holding up. I see a lot of people complaining about 10 speed failures still. I would like to do this swap in my work truck because it will never pull a trailer, or have to work hard.

I’m curious too. This seems so tempting… how integrated is it too? Does the manual shift show 10 speeds now?

Is the trans running off old architecture so that performance tunes are applicable?

I believe the gear display will only show what the original trans gears had. I believe that was on the website for this conversion.

@Pilot Give us an update on how the 10 speed transmission's been treating you.
Is everything from the swap still driving and operating as it should?

You can't just be the first ginny pig to work with Powertrain Swap Solutions to move from a 6 speed to the 10 speed then ghost us?

Inquiring minds and other members considering going the same route you did would like to know!

Cheers:cheers:

Yep, we did not change the torque converter. Used the stock one in my Tahoe. Took a low mileage 2021 10 speed trans and installed it with the Powertrain Swap Solutions electronics kit. No tune was needed. All turnkey work took about a day and a half and cost $7,500 out the door for everything.
I am so glad I read this thread. Seriously thank you for being so open and transparent. My 6SPD keeps me up at night.

Hi, so sorry folks for being MIA. The transmission has been excellent over the last 8 months. It’s far smoother, stays in the power band; I’m very happy with it. And Sean, the owner of Powertrain Swap Solutions, has been great too. Easy to work with and very helpful. I snagged some video while I was out there having the work done. I’ll try to throw that up on YouTube soon. I’ve been traveling, back in Jersey now and starting a new job tomorrow (I’ll be working for GitHub, if anyone knows what that is ).

Excellent news!! Thanks for sharing! I am seriously considering this swap!!

@Pilot what are you running in your front and rear diffs? 3.42?

I do know what GitHib is. I, my team, and company use it a lot!

@Pilot Thanks for coming back and for the updates.

I've been trading some emails with PSS as well, getting more details on the required mods and steps; The 10 speed swap kit includes an unlocked TCM with a factory GM 10 speed tune out of the box.

My question for you is: Have you just been running the 10 speed transmission with the included TCM 10 speed tune file included in the swap kit or did you have the TCM fine tuned later after the installation and swap was completed?

Awesome! I’m running stock diffs in my 2015 Tahoe LTZ. Not sure what the ratios are.

I’m running the tune just the way it came from PSS. No changes on my end.

@swathdiver can you plug the 10L90 into your fancy spreadsheet with 3.42 and 35" tires to see how it compares to the same diff with the 6L80, and also with 3.73?

I am curious if swapping in The 10L90, I may not need to upgrade my diffs to 3.73 from 3.42 that I was considering doing with my 35' tires.

Ok. Guessing you have 3.42 on that LTZ. But thanks for responding and glad this tranny is working out. Been serious about doing this since I first saw this post a while back!

Leaving in a few minutes, I'll do it tomorrow.
