Tell me what you see in this picture #2 of post #356, that I have yet to mention, that I found when I inspected the vehicle after purchase.

Sorry, but all you get is an "atta boy" if you post correctly.
Gravel on the intake manifold? And a piece of locking tab from a plug?

Could be the pic angle, but it looks like a missing or broken exhaust manifold bolt or two between cylinders #6 and #8. Also, the pieces of what looks like gravel on the intake manifold. Next to the gravel- that white piece that looks like a harness connector looks out of place.

Yeah I thought there was a bolt missing too but I wasn't sure.

If he ever complains of a tick noise, I know where I am looking first. I used my stethoscope and verified that it does not leak. As bad a shape this guy is in, I am pretty sure he won't put many miles on it.

I thought you were going to say he wouldn't live that long. My bad.
That guy is in bad shape for sure. When he got in the driver's seat his left foot was on running board and he could not move his leg to get his foot in. He had to grab the pant leg and drag the foot in.

I cleaned parts all day in prep for reassembly of the FJ Cruiser. The timing cover, oil pan, valve covers...etc. Reassembly starts tomorrow. The old radiator was so full of crap, that it was at least twice as heavy as the new one. First pic is of the timing cover, before I cleaned today, showing the oil leak spot and the second pic shows one of the old ignition coils with water corrosion. The coils are being replaced as well.

Second day of cleaning and then found out that a new oil pump was not coming today and would be a wait till Tuesday now. A new Melling pump for the 4.0 FJ Cruiser. We at least got the timing chain components all installed. In each pic, there is something new installed:

I don't normally work on other people's vehicles but the doctor my wife works in the same office with wanted to replace the head gasket on his Land Cruiser and asked if I would supervise.
That was an entertaining experience but got it done. Shortly after he drove cross country with it.

He offered to pay me but I said no. Once done he gave me one of his motorcycles that I really liked. This Aprilia had plenty of mods & put down 142whp shooting flames out the exhaust.

"Is everyone taking a vacation at the same time? I checked my preferences and nothing is changed and still no response notifications since yesterday at 4:30 pm. What gives?"

I posted this in "Site Comments & Feedback" and just now PM'ed a couple mods, @Fless and @soulsea, this problem.

Since the last thread I got a notification for at 4:52 pm, I have not gotten any notifications of responses on any of my threads I am involved in. Did I die and not know it?

For whatever reason it happens to a lot of us--including yours truly. Sometimes it's a few weeks before I realize I haven't gotten any notifications to a certain thread, then I have to look for it and play catch up.

The write up and pics of the work on the 2010 FJ Cruiser 4.0 1GR-FE engine, is also on an FJ Cruiser Forum. One of the members there wanted a static measurement of the new hydraulic tensioner when the pin is pulled and the spring load takes up the slack when the plunger snaps out against the follower tensioner tab. I thought I would go ahead and post those pics here too.
