Hello all, I am looking for some information. I have a 2021 Yukon denali 6.2 with 22's and no air ride and was wondering what the max tire size is with a 1" or 1.5" level. Does anyone make a 33.5 x12.50 size tire, or should I just look at 33x12.50 or 305/45R22? I am new to car modifications and not sure what my options are. What leveling options do I have? I just want to get a slightly taller and wider tire in an all terrain tread like the Toyo At3 or BFG AT. I see a lot of AT4's and Z71's on here and they look like they fit a bigger tire but no idea for the denali. Any help would be appreciated.
I cant see the appeal in lifting or even front leveling a denali. Nor can i see the appeal in larger tires if you are going to keep 22" wheels. Leave it be.

What's the difference between lifting a denali or a base model tahoe or a yukon slt or a z71 suburban, etc? They're all pretty much the same vehicle with different variations of trim are they not?

Under the skin sure, but the image they give and purpose they mean to fill are different. There isn’t anything off-roady about a Denali. It’s purely aesthetic, and wouldn’t be an issue to me if they didn’t offer already off-road type trim levels. I have had 2 Denalis and 1 Escalade and none would be anything more than nice road going SUV’s with capabilities to get you out of a jam in a pinch if needed or the occasional trip to the deer woods. Snowy roads don’t count.

Lets face it. Pretty much 100% of the people putting tires/wheels/lift kits on their vehicle…especially brand new $90k suv’s, let alone an actual truck…are not doing it for off roading. Period. Its simply for aesthetics. They want to make their cookie cutter vehicle “their own”.

While gm does offer “off road” trim levels with the at4 and z71 packages, they really are not all that much more “off road-able” in comparison to any of the other trims. They are basically the same vehicle with a few minor changes (bumpers, tires, wheels etc.).

You are 100% correct. Mall crawler jeeps, for instance. Its all personal preferance to me....nothing more. I, personally, wouldnt buy the mac-daddy trim level and try to make it look like something it wasnt intended one being. Might just be the 22's....dunno. 20's are boarderline for me. I also always remove the lowest air dam/valance from my "off road" themed vehicles.

I think they look pretty good with mud tires or all terrains. I chose the denali trim level because I think it looks the best, it has the 6.2 and the best interior. The 22’s look fine to me. And you are correct I will not be off roading this besides snow days, back roads or getting to my duck camp. Any one of those roads though I want more than the stock tires.

I personally don't feel a lifted denali with aggressive tires looks any less offroad capable than an at4 with aggressive tires. A different front facia and some tow hooks doesn't magically make an at4 some offroad beast. It's all about the look and most these rigs will never see much more offroad action than a grass field at the county fair

No it certainly doesn’t make it an off-road beast, but more tire and less bodywork hanging low are a step in the right direction.

Post up your lifted or leveled 2021 with setup details.

I’ll start:

1” front level strut extension nothing in rear.
Wheels: 22”x9” +24 offset
Tires: 285/50r22 Nitto Ridge Grapplers

Hello DW, looks great this way in addition to newer set up you did. Did this tire and wheel size fit with no fender trim needed with only the front 1" level kit? I'm trying to decide on a lift for 22" wheels with a meaty tire. I would be happy with your first set up. My older circle of friends may have a hard time if I get to aggressive with the lift. Thanks

No trimming with the earlier set up.

Hi, my suburban was built last week and is currently in transit. It’s an RST with magnetic ride. Im really wanting to lift it a couple inches. Talked to Rough Country and my local 4 Wheel Parts and both say that the rough country 2” will work with magnetic ride. I find it hard to believe and don’t want to find out the hard way. Can anyone confirm that the RC 2” kit can work with magnetic ride? Would I need a bracket to drop down that little sensor strut deal that the magnetic rides have? Thanks for any guidance!

One more question please. If you go to 22"s from the stock 20" on the Z71, do you have to use lower rubber so the speedo and milage line up with stock? Or is there a way around that issue. Because you have 22"s but your rubber still looks as tall as the rubber on the stock 20" wheels.

I leveled my wifes high country with magnetic ride with nothing but strut spacers. I looked all around for ride height sensors but couldnt find any. I remember extending them on her ‘16 denali, but i dont think the new mrc system utilizes ride height sensors at all.

Ok awesome, so no issues with what you did? Are you talking about strut spacers as in the hockey puck type deal up top or the bottom U shaped things that go on the lower control arm?
