Yes I installed Melling HV pump. Thinking about running a bottle of engine flush before I drop the oil pan again. My thinking is that will hopefully clear any more sludge from the oil passages that I couldn't manually clean like I cleaned the pan and timing cover. Then change the oil yet again, and clean any crud or sludge off the pickup tube screen ( if any gets on there). Then if I still have low pressure after that, maybe try a bottle of Lucas oil additive. If that works, I'll just drive it with Lucas added at every oil change, and starts saving up for a new engine.

Are you 100% certain that you didn't botch the O-ring install with the new pump (method and O-ring size)?

You could overfill the oil by 1.5-2 quarts and park in a mild nosedive to test.

Got both belts and all those swapped just now. Just cause. Not sure how old they were but the ac belt looked bad.

Pump kit actually came with FOUR ( yes 4) O-rings. 3 of them were in the box with the pump, and one was packaged in the box with the pickup tube/screen. The instructions and Melling's own YouTube video said to use the one supied with the tube if the tube comes with one, so that's what I did. I lubed it with a dab if motor oil by sticking my finger in the bottle and then smearing my finger all over the O-Ring. Am I 100% sure I didn't screw it up? No, I obviously can't say that for sure because it's not working properly. But I do plan on dropping thepan again to inspect my work. I just have to wait till my next off day. I'm also debating on running some engine flush before I pull the pan down again. That way if there's any sludge in the oil passages possibly causing issues, then maybe I can get it flushed out.

Did you check the fit of the tube to the pump before you installed the parts? There’s different sizes of o-rings. The tube and pump should fit snugly together and when you go to push the tube up into the pump you should have to wiggle it a bit or at least feel it fitting snug.

I also bought 8 Delco 41-110 iridium plugs. May install them tomorrow. Going to check gap on all of them first tonight. Lower back been asking for attention lately. I don't feel like laying over the hood and make it even worse.
That’s part of the reason I just pull the wheels and fender liners off and do it from underneath. My back hates leaning over the fenders, I pay for it for days afterwards.

I just don't see myself doing all that extra work. I don't have back issues. Just sore from busting butt all day today

Meh, I can pull the tires and liners in 20 minutes. So much easier to get to the plugs. I pretty much have to with longtubes though but now that I’ve done it like that I wouldn’t go back.

I need to quit hoarding parts:(. I found a pair of new license plate bulb housings, two new head light locking pins, a pair of mevotech ttx sway bar links and a new Felpro oil pan gasket today in the garage. Haha!! So I put my plugs next to all of them.

Most of the stuff was hiding in my tools boxes.

Hello guys
The air ride compressor turns on for about 10 seconds then shuts off. The shocks are oem and fairly new. I put my hand on the air bladder as the compressor was trying to air up the bladders and the compressor shuts off. Does anyone know what might be wrong with air ride the system?

PS. I tested the shock bladders and they are holding air.

I ordered a new air hose kit. I figured buy that before I spend big bucks on the compressor.
Follow up to this.
I manually tested the air compressor with the Tech-2 and it was working fine. No DTC codes were present. Next I did the ALC trimset recalibration and the air bags started working like they should. Put a load on the rig and the air bags level the suv like they should. Another reason to own a Tech 2.

The service engine came on during the week, plugged in the Tech-2 and got code P0128. Replace the thermostat reset the service light. Tech-2 keeps paying it self off.

Can someone link me to a true Tech 2? I'm seeing what are probably Chinese knock offs and curious how much I should pay for the real deal, and which online retailer would be a safe bet.

I have seen the true Tech-2 go for over $500 on offer up.

We pretty much all have the clones. They work fine. AFAIK you can’t buy a new real Tech2, I have seen used ones on eBay.

finally got my junk tuned to run on 87 again. tried running 87 a month or so ago and she was knocking, (knock retard city) today i found the time to turn things back, like all the timing multipliers, low octane had to be turned back down a bit, aka stock lol. now it gets a degree or two of kr wot at the shifts only. i can live with that.

before it was getting 4º brake tq ing it, and 2-4 just driving it around like a normal person on 87.

im paying more for 87 now as i was for 93 last year. thanks so much........

lets go brandon!!!!!!
