Test #2 today. Much more confident driving up this time. Doing the oil and filter change today and trying a different oil plug setup. Going to mow the lawn and let her cool down.

If I make some ramps, I’m planning on using 1 1/8” subfloor plywood. Lighter and stronger than 2x’s. It’s $75 for a 4’ x 8’ sheet and I’m pretty sure I could do it with one sheet.

Sounds good.

Nice ramps but I'd probably want them to be a few inches wider than that.

I did too.

Go for a full 12" width.

Yeah I wanted to use 2 x 12's on top but I was on a budget. :( Always room for improvement later, this is a work in progress. I do wish I made the top landings a few inches longer so you can feel the truck start to level out and know you are near the stops.

not radar, maybe some kind of RF antenna, might have been open a gate or something like that
It’s definitely a dipole antenna, 5” overall. That equates to roughly 1100MHz. The shorter elements are 2.75”, so roughly 2GHz.

Both are Very low on the spectrum for modern radar, also not directional front to rear. I believe door and gate operators are in the 300-400 MHz range.

Now I’m curious.

I had just gotten onto the highway when I heard a pop and the dash dinged at me with a warning "hood open". I was accelerating and going about 60mph when it happened. Pulled over and closed it. Only thing I could think of is maybe the last time I got out of the vehicle the tip of my shoe pulled the release latch a bit. That's happened before. I don't like the location of it, could be higher.

Just got back home from two weeks in OKC, only three tornado warnings on this trip. The motorhome drove smooth despite the def sensor “magic box” that I built in order to drive the damn thing. The motor for the automatic step went out partway there, but we got the part shipped and replaced before we left.
We were out there for a horse show competition - Morgan Grand National (@Tonyrodz not that kind of GN, much different kind of ponies involved) The wifey took home a reserve world championship, so all was worth it.

Now back to my Denali! I’ll end up doing a build thread once I’m done. It’s already mostly documented and plenty of photos taken for substantial evidence of my labors. I think I’ll have to drop the tank and drain the fuel by the time I get it ready to fire back up.

Hope everyone’s been safe and healthy.
