Good info. My remote worked great and then a few weeks ago, started being ******. Passive lock was hit or miss. I changed the fob battery but haven’t really driven the truck since. I wonder if this could be my issue. 2019 denali

More than likely this is your issue.

Update on mine....dealership did it for free. I dropped it off, 7hrs later I called because they didn’t, and of course it was done. They marked it down for 0.6hrs of work. Besides the headache with a typical stealership, it works great now!

I've got a 2018 yukon xl denali with the same problem. Picked my amplifier up today from the dealer for $43. On the gm part system, it only calls it the radio amplifier. Installed in about 20 minutes. On the Xl very easy to access. Coat hook and the back corner that holds the speaker removed. Gives you enough room. You can see part of the unit hanging down, attached to the window antenna.

The amplifier fixed it for me.

Replaced the antenna amplifier on our 2019 Yukon XL today, short range/key not detected is definitely fixed. As GMC AK already indicated, installation is easy.

Hey @915_Tahoe can you help me with a part number please?

Rockauto now lists 4 different part numbers for this part. Can you confirm the replacement number? Last 8 of vin is KR133329.

My range has been getting worse and worse and now the passive system doesn't work 70% of the time and if my wife has her key in here purse, in the back seat, it will move the seating position to hers, even though I'm in the driver seat. Finally had enough and I want to tackle this project.

Gm parts direct is showing 84693389 but says "without satellite radio" and I'm pretty sure I have that function

You would have to remove the amp, to get the gm# thats labeled on it. Does show 2 gm#'s for that amp.

Just a quick update. I bought both part numbers and the original gave no signs to which one to use (other than the MHz). I opted to go with the 3389 part number as that's what everyone else seemed to be using. So far so good. Passive feature has worked every time and I can remote start from the very back corner of my yard (250' ish). Thanks to all of you guys(gals) for posting this. I hope it lasts because I don't want to have to do all that again

I’m wondering if there was a batch of defective ones. The replacement one is still going strong. Mine was always an issue from day one when new

Just ordered mine to replace. Had great distance on my 15's key fob range but horrible on my 18 and keyless entry hardly works. Stumbled upon this thread and figured I would give it a shot. Cheap part but a pain in the *** to get at with the plastic trim pieces on the pillars and around the headliner. Hope this does the trick. 5 days out on shipping.

It will work. Some of the trim pieces are hard to pull off and sharp.

Is there any documentation as to where this part is located? I have the same issue and I want to replace mine. I can't tell from any of the stuff I have seen online, parts catalogs etc. On the GM bulletin, PIT5665, it looks like it is on the side of the seat? Then I saw the photos and it looks like the rear area in the headliner or...? Thanks!

It’s located under the rear headliner on the passenger side.

How did you say you find the part number for the replacement amp? I have a 2019 SLT and I have to be about 20 for from my Yukon for the remote start to work. It’s hardly work having a remote start.
