I'm just doing it to irritate you.

no idea. i don't know enough about what someone can do with a VIN number so I err on the side of caution. Just a force of habit from blurring out license plate numbers and firearm serial numbers.

With "T" as the eighth digit, he has a gas engine, like me. I looked at both radiators at RA and matched the RPO codes from his rig to the gas engine options and not one of the RPO codes matches his RPO code pic. If I look close enough, I just did, it lists the exact same RPO codes for gas or flex fuel.

IMO, I would go with the one that fits mine, and likely yours, because of yours being the same rig as mine.

Posting the last 8 digits of the VIN: 5R208540....hopefully @915_Tahoe will chime in. He is the genius with this stuff.

I liked the 3.73 gear in my 02 and was fun to drive. Since I have been doing all the upgrade work on my rig, I replaced the coils and now all 8 injectors and a new throttle body and new fuel pump. Just the coils and pump have given me just a slight better accel from stop feeling and I expect the throttle body and injectors will too. Plus, my mpg is better and need that with the current gas prices. "I sure could go for a mean tweet and $1.76 a gallon gas, right now". I have a hat that says this on the front.

He meant "drivers side" (DS) and I think is confusing the ABS with SRS.
and ya the impact sensor/s under the bumper frame, like you linked above are the most common problem, you should have a associated code but getting that code requires a scanner that can read SRS. the cheapy low end scanners usually do not have that capability.
if it is a front sensor just be aware the left & right side are the same part number and the code may only say "front impact sensor" so if you replace one side and the code does not go away then swap it to the other side. next most common is the passenger seat sensor or a broken wire.

Stupid auto correct made it abs instead of srs. Iirc, my scanner(innova) stated which side was bad.

Untill I got the new rig with the 3.42 gears, I thought I wanted to stick with the 3.73 gears but after getting the 3.42's and driving after the upgrades, I can live with the 3.42's and will decide if I ever get to the point of new gears being needed.

Ugh. Everything seems to be breaking lately. Noticed antifreeze leaking and then the "service airbag" message pops up.

Radiator finally gave out.

Upper right side of the radiator I noticed these cracks.

Would anyone happen to know what size radiator I need for an '05 Z71? I tried measuring it without taking everything apart and I think it's 34" wide x 1-1/4 thick. Not sure of the height. The last 8 of my VIN is: 5R208540

Vin# is showing 2 sizes for your truck. If you can get the 3 digit code # off the radiator and cross the ones i posted so you can get the correct one.

I did love my 3.73 gears in the other rig but this is more of a cruiser and I need to make sure, at 68 years old, that I don't get a ticket for making a crazy decision to race or haul ass when I should not be. I still drive 'em like I stole 'em but I also have my limitations. The new upgrades have made this 05 drive like a brand new rig. Beside, after the recent work with the motor mounts and removing the exhaust manifolds and breaking or finding broke, 3 end bolts and having to use the Dorman clamps, which work flawlessly by the way, I know that eventually I will do head work and throw even more money at my rig.

Do your 3.42 gears take you to almost 90 in second. This always made me laugh in my Envoy.

Can't say. I have yet to drive it as hard as my 02. If and when I do that, which will likely be right after my next go round of upgrades, with the new throttle body and the new injectors.

I noticed the same size too, at RA, but I actually had an RPO code or two that matched for the 21647 radiator at RA.

ya it's usually oc or no oc, GM likes to change parts numbers at the drop of a hat, just a money game you can grab a used radiator out out of a 2014 and throw it in your 00 or vica-versa

I have no plans on towing anything so 3.42 is fine for me.

I should have come here a month earlier. Wife and I took the kids down to Keansburg amusement 2 weeks ago for the whole day.
