How are the belts and water pump?

Have you added Pag Oil to the a/c compressor and/or bumped the Freon?
I had the AC system serviced back in the spring, I think I have a grounding issue someplace I'm also trying to track down.

I have dye in the system, I just need to get under the UV light and check for leaks.

Picked up my trailer from servicing and headed for the freeway. 97 degrees outside. After 12 miles of driving over moderate hills the trans temp hit 185. Then I looked at my engine temp and it was 230.
I turned around to head home and had to get off the freeway because of an accident. I had 25 minutes of stop and go traffic and the temp hit 201 once. The trans temp problem is looking good but now I have to diagnose the high coolant Temps. I know the drivers side fan has a high speed but does the passenger side fan step up also? I have never heard it. I think I need to go back and check the threads for info on my fans.
Looking at your photos (# D48AC) what did you use for “standoffs” and the other hardware on the top mount of the cooler where it connects to the frame?
You guys have got me all ***kerd’ up with the cooler adjustment down to the lower grille. I’m prob going to fab new mounts and buy hardware for the lower grille area just in case.

I never even had a lower grill option. ‍♂️
Thinking I'm going to try and put it horizontal (parallel with the ground) between the bumper and "skid plate"

I used some of those metal spring loaded Y adapters like you would use for drywall, the sleeve's were just some misc metal pieces I had in my junk cabinet, I think I used 3/8" and had to throw on a couple washers so the bolt would not bottom out

If the truck has the K5L code it’s the 700w motors. If not it’s the 500.
In the middle of putting everything back together with the new water pump, just check the glove box, I do have k5l. I guess I don't need to worry about the motors.
But I do only have the five blade fans. Are the seven or nine rimmed blades better?

The ones you have now are just fine and not worth changing out

I cut some EMT at an angle so the cooler bracket would sit flush to the spacer. 3/8” toggle bolts and washers hold everything together. Someone mentioned they used hinges on their Derale install. I think that was a good idea and would have done that also if I had read it before I started.

Ok. Only the driver’s side fan spools up to a higher speed.
hm, not sure how you would troubleshoot that maybe check the resistance of each harness and both motors and see if one is different, on the 7/9 blade the motors are different for each side so the readings may be different as well

So for future reference I just measured the cfm of the 700w 7/9 rimmed blade (k5l) fans both sides measured approx 2300 cfm on high, measured inside the engine compartment right up against the fan, can anyone measure the dual 5 blade non rimmed 700w? You just need a anemometer
OK, I'm not sure if my readings are correct. I'm using the same model meter, have the same settings entered, and Don't have the K5L option, just the shroud #20923003 with the 5 blade rimless fans. They do get super loud on high and move a lot of air though.

My fans on low read 6600-7200 cfm. I didn't get a reading with them on high. When I first started the truck they were on high, but by the time I got the meter on and my phone camera on they switched to low. I even had the ac on auto and the temp set to like 62.

Here's driver's side fan

hmm, what do you get for a reading on the hvac center vent. fan speed on high, air setting for front only, recirculation on. once you have the reading going you can just press the hold button for a photo.

Well it took 2 nights of reading but, I made it... lol
I have the cold case in mine and I run a External 12" Transmission Cooler - Dual Pass that cold case sells.

My cold case internal cooler has a defective fitting so they sent me the dual pass cooler...

After driving an hour in 112 Phoenix weather It can hit 250 degrees but, on the highway it will hover around 225 to 230.

I once pulled a trailer in 105 degree and when running up a few hills coming out of Vagas at 70 mph it actually hit 280.

Thanks for giving me some ideas to think about reading your posts...

Are you talking transmission temps o_O? You definitely want a functioning oil to water cooler in the radiator for the transmission. An external cooler alone won't cut it.
