Howdy all,

I'm now at about 3mths and 1100 miles on my Street Smart 6L80 with an upgraded "billet" converter. I do plan on updating this over time but I've put enough miles on it and towed the scout trailer to consider giving first impressions. For a brief recap on the install, it's not terribly hard if you pull the intake and drop the Y-pipe, but it can be a bear trying to get the dowels, bolts and TC pilot to line up without at least one if not two more people to scoot, push, and thread bolts at the same time.

Hardware:
The transmission arrived decently well packed, the strap in the crate wasn't long enough to completely immobilize it but it worked. All the fluid passages were plugged, the TC was secured with an arm that applied pressure to keep it on, and there was both warranty forms and instructions attached. Trans pan had definitely been used to scoot a trans around a bit and a little bit dinged up but still servicable. The TC was a billet cover and while I didn't take it off it looked to match the part of the lower cost "billet" units folks show. There was dyno test trans fluid in it as when I tipped it to get it onto the trans jack it came out the tailshaft. Shipping it back was dead simple

Programming:
I did a full HPTuner write using my previous settings upping the fluid pressure by 10%, removing all the slips, and keeping lockup in 3-6. No issues doing a full write and it drove just fine with only minor differences to standard detailed below.

Driving:
I have driven it around town, on some 2hr trips, and towed the >4600lb scout trailer with it for a total of about 1100 miles in both the TX summer and now that it's turned fall. I installed a Tru-Cool 40K using GM lines that I cut and compression spliced one to fit using the Dorman NPT to clip adapters. Trans stays 120-145ºF depending on outside temp not towing. I did not tow in the summer so no report on temps there but with weather in the 60ºs towing temp got up to the mid-160ºF. Overall driving has been great, the only thing I notice different is the stall of the billet TC seems to be higher as it roll at idle like it used to and the revs out of lockup feel higher. I'm thinking of upping the line pressure a bit in 1, 3-6 in normal and all the gears in tow/haul.

Thanks to @NickTransmissions for his guidance in diagnosing the trouble with the reman I bought the Yukon XL with enough to not trust it and then verifying that I had done the install correctly.
