I'm going to throw a wild guess out there and say "your foot" and 6.0. We had a shop truck that would get about 12 (2500 with 4L80, crew cab, 4wd) and my buddies SSS gets a little over 15

I know the 6.0s are known for terrible MPG no matter what you do, I swear I really don't drive aggressively 99% of the time. I'd say no more than an average of 1-2 WOT pulls per tank of gas. (Many tanks see no WOT just commuting and rarely in traffic mostly 2 lane 55mph roads.) I guess I'm just a tad disappointed a 10.5-1 CR motor, sipping 93 with a mild cam (Had the even milder 212/218 before) motor hooked to a 5 speed with a better OD than a 4l60, 3.42 gears, 2wd, lowered, and small street tires doesn't do better. Only thing I can think that really hurts it is displacement obviously but the 6.2s do better, or the lift of the cam. It's always had a "High lift cam .600/.600. Roger Vinci and BTR seem to be pretty firm believers in Higher lift hurts mpg even if the heads flow good enough to make use of it. I also assumed the parasitic loss of the manual trans would be better than an auto but the 14b axle probably helps negate that.

I wish the new regime would loan me 5k in the name of global warming so I could swap to lighter wheels, Michelin tires, Low lift cam, big front lip, and a week off so I could work on a lean cruise tune and really see what I could get out of it. Oh, and of course the regime would need to forgive that load after the fact.

While it's fun to commit keyboard science it's not worth putting my own money into.

You guys are pissing me off with those good numbers! Why can't I get better than 14-15!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I do get 17 on the highway but that's trying hard)

This is true, still not worth a damn. He wants me to try tuning it and I want nothing to do with it since I'm not fluent in Korean.

Hell, the heads may help that? It'll be more efficient anyway.

I'm confused on what I was going to say after trying to decipher all that Shiiinese above. Sum-ting-wong

I was just trying to distract you until you get the bad news :console:

Don't worry the heads are still in motion lol. I was making a list of stuff I need to do to swap them (in the far future) lifters are top on this list. The current lifters are as mysterious as the bottom end, but I have no idea what lifters I would want to go to, maybe Johnsons. Also, the heads come with a set of OEM rockers with a CHE trunion kit I'll probably put those up for sale I figure they are worth a minimum of $200 which gets the cost of the heads down to below $1k!

I did ls7 lifters on my camaro and the avalanche motor. BTR trunnion upgrade on the rocker arms for the avalanche. I think my camaro has stock rockers, I can't remember.

Thats a heck of a deal on those heads. Chop chop!

I did LS7s in my RCSB but I've been seeing mixed stuff about them lately, I might fork out the extra moolah for something moar betterer lol.

I'm trying to find as much crap as I can to sell so I can assure myself I NEED the heads

Well @pwtr02ss, I pulled the trigger with Wilkies. $714 with shipping back to me, not bad at all if you ask me. Not sure how long it will take, i'm in no rush to install them but I am excited to see them collect dust on my shelf.

Awesome! IIRC, its about two week lead time. I ordered my heads 12/22 and received them 1/8. Thats pretty fast considering the holidays.

Damn man. That sounds pretty good! This is for just the porting, right? I really want to figure out heads, valve springs, etc.. so I can start getting parts. I want to get decent heads, for a non-turbo application, cam and intake (leaning towards the Fast RSX)

That's porting, valve job everything but assembly and disassembly. I'd seriously reconsider the fast intake save the money and get a TBSS or NNBS intake and throttle body. Put the extra funds to heads IMO.
