Be reading post here for some time. Haven’t seen any trolls. I get the impression folks are here for their genuine love of these vehicles. I bought a 2006 Yukon XL Denali to replace my B3000, big upgrade. This is my 1st AWD. I have a 68 K20 I-6 292 4 speed, use to have a 69 K5 350 auto. I wasn’t really looking for a Yukon, Something more like a Envoy. Co-worker was trying to talk me in to a Suburban. My response was I don’t want anything that big. I found what I thought was the best deal at the time and couldn’t pass it up. The Yukon I picked up has high miles 253,000 but is in good shape for the rust belt. The 1st 10 years of this truck was spent in Texas. The purpose for this vehicle is to pull a small trailer when needed and to help spend extra cash. Hopefully not to much of the latter. The slow fill at the gas pump is how I found the site. I have some work to do on that.

Here's a couple from when it was new to me. I did replace the DRL blinker housing.

Welcome to the cult!

Yeah, there really aren't any trolls. But, some members will troll when given the opportunity. It's all in good fun, so just roll with it cuz those same members will just as soon help you with the strangest of quirks.

Denali looks clean!

Thanks for the warm welcoming. This was so clean inside and out I couldn’t pass it up. In MN most vehicles with any kind of age have rust showing and most cases holes. I seen a Ram the other day with about 4 inches left of the bed over the rear tire. So far the only thing not working on this one is the TPMS. It has the 20” rims with rubber valve stems. Rock auto list the TPMS with the metal valve stems. The tires are in fair shape, so for now I’ll live with them not working. I must say I do like driving “The Bus”. I have had Vans in the past, this is like the best of both worlds van vs truck. Being well feed and mature I don’t wrench as much as I use to. This might be the key to get back in the garage. I will post any I learn in the future. I do find some of the life lessons shared here interesting as well.

Oh, lots of stories here with all kinds of backgrounds, including shop work and such. Some very smart people here for sure. I am up there in years and ran shops and worked in them for 35+ years and I got tired of paying the shop fees so I bought some more tools and lost some weight and started to do the things I like to do and have a shop owned by two guys that worked at one of my shops and they are both ASE Master Techs and let me supply parts for the jobs I don't want to do. Even with that experience and knowledge, I still see guys here that have more knowledge than me that never worked in shops. This is a great place to bounce info off of people at. Plus, there are plenty of us smart asses here too. Ahhhh, good times.

I resent that innuendo. :mad::flipthebird::bleh:

Welcome original poster, can we get some pics of the old trucks too? :)

Welcome to the site. I haven’t been a member very long here myself. I can honestly say though it’s the most positive and helpful forum I’ve ever been a part of. I was a long time member of two other GM truck forums, and really wish I would have landed here years ago. Several very knowledgeable folks here. I’m digging the color matched grille on you Denali. Clean truck

I bought an `06 Yukon Denali back in May. I was actually looking for an `04-`06 sierra or silverado. I had an `02 Sierra 4x4 before, then a minivan (ugh!) I saw this truck and couldn't pass it up. I love the luxury, and the AWD! I have the short one. Your's is super clean.
