I'm an idiot.

I changed my oil on sunday, and...I'm just realizing now...I put in the wrong oil. :emotions122:

Calls for 5w-30, I used 5w-20. Not a huge deal..... I'll run it until it gets super cold, but I really dont know why that 5w20 is still stuck in my head. I used to use it on my explorer that I had for quite some years...I dunno, but it dawned on me today while I was getting gas. Popped the hood, 5w30 on the filler cap.....5w20 on the spare/excess bottle I keep in the back seat. Dammit.

Your OK- https://www.autoblog.com/2015/11/18/why-are-5w-30-and-5w-20-oils-so-common/

Don’t understand the purpose of 2 step without a transbrake. Care to explain?

Well i also a have a 3200 stall converter from Circle D on the way. I will set the 2 step to or about the same as my stall speed, I can hold the gas down to the floor and drop the brake. Since I will be holding right at/before the stall, I can launch it better.

Hmm.. oil leaking through the valve seals..?

I'm sure it may be or blowby from the cylinders. Even with the catch can it's getting through. Only had that on a year though and the plugs are 3 years old.

You didn’t happen to buy those AC Delco plugs for 1/4 the going rate did you? There’s been some counterfeits being sold that don’t last long.

Don't remember what I paid I got AC Delcos as far as I knew. This time around my mechanic looked up a higher heat number Delco and said to try those to see if they stay cleaner.

BTW I passed inspection.

Good... NY keeps extending yearly inspections so I keep letting it ride. My Honda was due in June and the tahoe was up in august.... they extended everyone until October 4 and renewed extension until November. I don’t care either way, I’ll wait until they say you must get it done then wait a month or 2 and play stupid when I get yanked. Crazy that every other state either doesn’t do them or are 2 years but NY does it every year. .. stupid

Lol I’ll be shocked if the car holds anywhere near that at WOT without a transbrake.

Proof of concept time ;)

I'm trying to not go full racetruck LOL
You’ll be standing on that brake and it’ll still push through. Just because it’s stalling at 3200 doesn’t not mean it slips until then. You’ll need a brake to do WOT launches. Look at getawaycarz if you have a 6l80. Otherwise just go to a race trans shop and have them do a trans brake on the 4lxx.

Yeah I have the 6L80.

Its a daily, so I'm not going full retard......tho I do occasional track days.

BTW, I cannot find that screen name; yes I have used the search function.

I found one of the Handkraftd steering wheels on eBay the other day and pulled the trigger. It seemed like a good deal and I'm not a huge fan of the wood grain trim ring around the stock Escalade one anyway. This new one is a lot thicker and just feels better too. I did lose the heated function, but I've only used it a few times so no biggie for me.

Looks good. Not “too much” like some of the others I’ve seen.

Was there anything wrong with your stock wheel?
