My 2001 Yukon needed to have the driver seat cushion replaced as you can imagine. With 412,000 miles it was a little flat. I got the seat out but one bolt gave me a hard time. The rear outboard 14 E Torx bolt didn't want to come out. I had to put a breaker bar and plenty of oil to get it out. The bottom threads must have been rusty since they go through the bottom of the floorboard. The threads are a little messed up on the bolt. The threads in the floor look ok but I am sure they could use some repair. Does anyone know what size they are and the correct chase to use? Or should I see if the dealer has replacement bolts and use a new one to chase the threads. Thanks in advance.

A 12mm tap with the same thread count and pitch should be easy to run down there and clean it up and the same for the chase of the threads.

I was wondering if I could do that. A chase will be hard to find in my area but a tap is easy enough to get. I will get one and gently try it.

May be able to rent them or us for free from a parts store.

Great idea. I had not thought about that. I just checked and our local Autozone has a thread chase set for loan. I will get it tomorrow. I will report back here with pictures good or bad in the next few days with my rebuilt seat installed.

Ouch! Those look worse than mine!!.

I called the local GM dealership. The bolts are a discontinued item but they were nice enough to give me the size. M12 1.75x45. It didn't list fine or coarse threads but I am sure I can find something to replace it with. I wonder what bolt strength these are. The dealer parts department didn't know that either.

I appreciate the listing.

The 1.75mm value in the bolt spec is the thread pitch. Besides the 12mm size, that's what you need to know to get the right tap/chaser.
