Alright everyone. I need you to join hands, and wish the best of the Tahoe-Yukon-Suburban gods upon my ole' 2500 burb.

So, a while back, the burb trans started whining. Took it to my mechanic who said the trans was toast. The shop I went to was a jasper shop, and they wanted 4500 for a replacement jasper trans installed. I dont have 4500 lying around.

I have a extended warranty/repair insurance plan on the burb. I opened a claim with them on the transmission and they moved through things per usual protocols, but they wanted the trans to be broken down before they go any further with approving the claim. Nothing I was really surprised about. What annoyed me is that the issue was diagnosed, tearing it down was a $600 risk in case they chose not to pay the claim.

Well, long story short I found a guy in kentucky that rebuilds GM transmissions and upgrades them in the process. Better shift drums, external coolers, blah blah blah the whole shebang. I took the burb to him the week before christmas with the hopes that he takes care of it all.

If the insurance company approves the trans work by him, I'll have him replace the oil pan gasket and oil pickup tube oring. Get the major stuff done and hopefully it should be good for some time to come.

So, the truck is 200 miles away, in the depths of eastern kentucky....wish the best to her and for a safe and healthy return.

Best of luck! I’m gonna grab a second jug of ATF today and change the fluid in mine next weekend. Need to do oil today and haven’t got time to do both. I’m getting partial throttle shift flairs so hopefully the fluid and filter change helps. I think its mainly a tuning issue because WOT is fine. I think though a worn ball in the valve body can cause this issue though. Will have to see. Cant hurt to change the fluid and filter

Catch can contents after ~6,500 miles or so. Wanted to do an oil change today but store didn’t have the right filter! I will grab one this week and do it next weekend with the ATF and trans filter.

That is tasty looking!

A local store near me has 18% off bag days where anything you can fit in a bag is 18% off. I always use that to stock up on stuff for the vehicles like oil, filters, wiper blades, etc. It’s nice because if I decide to change the oil at the last minute some day, I got the stuff on hand already.

That's pretty damn cool. Wish autozone here did that. I thought I had an oil filter here but no dice.

I dedicated a lot of time to some mods on my Tahoe this weekend. I replaced my low beam halogen lights with one of HID Guy's kits, plasti dipped my chrome surround on my grille, tried to repaint my front bowtie (FAIL!), replaced my interior lights with LEDs, installed my holster under my steering column, and replaced a seatbelt latch on the driver's seat. Now I'm waiting on my rear door actuators to come in as well as the billet bowties I ordered. As soon as they get here I'll get to installing them too. Long weekend but I got it done. What did you do to your Tahoe/Yukon?

Had rear brake pads and new rotors installed. Ceramic pads. Also removed the retracable side steps. The pass side was extended and would not retract. The drivers side would not move. Probably a bad motor. What was interesting is my blind spot monitoring is now disabled. I think there was a module attached to the drivers side.

The rear brakes startd to grind last week.
