If I cant get everything hammered out and working I'm just gonna park it till next week and I have a few days off to eff with it...sick of 10pm nights every night on it

Injectors cleaned and flowed , dude said they really werent that bad. There was some trash just in them that fell out when I pulled them and turned them over. I messed with pretty much every hose so good chance some trash was left in there.
Grab valve covers from friend. No mounts for coils, I'll have to find somewhere to put them and make up ends that will take a couple hours. But ill give it a shot prob

Not slackin... taking bathroom break.

Valve covers not sure if I'll be able to fill with oil but I'll figure that out, one side done relocating coils. Going to run out of the correct crimp ends for ls coils onto these wires cause I've had two pull the end out of the ceramic insulator (factory made end) so trying to figure out how to half ass or to work

Well...none of that cured the knock retard getting picked up by the sensor. Its accompanied by a screech sometimes at low rpm and the engine bogs way down, but I'm not sure if thats because of the timing getting pulled. Going to pull the turbo back off and apart, cant see any sign of it hitting anywhere on the compressor side but cant see a lot of it, so need to take both covers off. It will do it every so often at idle so I may just pull the filter and watch it a few mins to see if the turbo wheel stalls out or noticeably slows

:(

Timing set a chain and not gears, yeah?

Yea billet timing set (chain)
I really dont know what else would make a screeching sound and cause knock. Crank walking? Lol dont know. changed the oil yesterday too and nothing alarming.

"Hoping" theres some noticeable rub wear in the turbo and I can just order another and be done. I can pull the compressor side and center section and leave the exhaust side together and probably start it up

It’s not a double roller chain by chance is it?

I thought so, but wasn't sure what such a beast of an engine would include. I asked cuz I recalled a guy having KR issues and it was due to harmonics from his gear drive timing set.

Hoping it's not anything with the motor! I like the idea of gutting the turbo to test. Anxiously awaiting updates...

Yea I'm working thru the easiest to check to the hardest, turbo is next in line. Pulling front cover is going to be a pain but itll get there if I find nothing else I guess.

welllll screeching sound "may" have been self inflicted lol

so i got home - kid and i were at universal past couple days - decided to pull the turbo apart. got it down to the exhaust side (still in truck bolted to manifold). noticed one of the clamps was kinda bound up like it may not have been completely seated.
noticed there was some little scrape marks on the inside of the exhaust housing (white lines). sounded about a billion times worse that that looks but o well.
started truck up without the turbo guts, STILL shows fn knock . i just take a deep breath and put it all back together a little more carefully that last time aligning/seating the turbo center to the housings.
start it up, let it idle for a while, knock is a while lot less.
take it for another drive just in case and no more screeching sound and pulling time! drove it for about half hour, through some timing back in the low rpm, did some logging. everything seems to be ok

Seems be much better, drove around and heard it maybe like 1 time....I think the knock sensor may just be picking up some noise from fuggin 26X/26X duration cam, lift is in the .650 range iirc. May just have to adjust sensitivity of them.

Also I think I'm afraid to floor it lol. I'll do some logging and itll show tps at 100% for a second or two then just starts falling off.

makes a wee bit o noise in a moving gear, park/neutral alls good. acts like it has zero stall speed what so ever , kinda wants to stall the engine when put in gear, temp climbs uncontrollably even locked up and at idle, sounds needs to be up to hear kind of a grinding noise

literally in between /\ those vids it just works fine, noise gone.

fluid was trashed... i pulled the return hose let it pump itself out to make sure there was no restriction in the hoses or coolers - pumped about 10 qts into bucket in under a minute, i ran another 2 qts of clean fluid through it, drained pan, swapped filter. still junk i'll post some pics from my phone in a sec of fluid and pan

circle d specialties 258mm billet triple disc... was "spec'd" when i planned on just having a turbo 6.2 for a while.
not even locking it up under wide open throttle, but even some kinda mid throttle pulls are pretty violent in this thing and was prob locked up.
couple emails back and forth with them trying to figure out where to go with this... they make a 5x disc but wasnt really planning on locking up wot so wasnt going to bother with that. they do have a mechanical diode sprag option that is supposed to be stronger, or they may want to go back a little larger for some more girth.
either way need to get it and trans pulled back out, that amount of material i doubt could all come from the converter so going to have it cleaned and freshened back up while its down anyway.
