What is a 1/8" spacer going to do, Allen?

Exactly what I was thinking. Or even a 1/4” one.

I got 1/4” for the rear to quit rubbing on the rear fender liners under articulation going into parking lots with the 305/50/20s.

the thing is, adding rear spacers widens the track width, which will effect the handling characteristics. So I got 1/8” ones for the front to not mess with the difference in track width too much. I don’t know about the SUVs but with the trucks the front ran about 1.5” wider than the rear, and I wanted to maintain most of that. With the 1/8” ones on front the 305s actually poke a little bit.

Yep!

Only 3 major Class 7/8 truck manufacturers now.

Daimler has Freightliner, Western Star & Sterling (used to be Louisville and Ford before that)

Paccar has Kenworth and Peterbuilt

Volvo Has Volvo and Mack.

Edit: Forgot about International so 4

When I was in the business, Internationals were a maintenance nightmare. Even our church buses! And those 1990s Sterlings were worse! Volvo's had a unique rear suspension with a dog bone that was constantly breaking and wearing out bushings. Mack's were expensive but tough, Freightliner's were the Chevrolets of trucks and KWs the Cadillacs!

Those 1000 cubic inch Macks could pull a mountain!

I know I have posted these before but thought I would share with all the "Big Rig" talk going on...

My last Pete that I custom ordered... Had everything color matched... Grille surround, headlight buckets, fuel tanks, air cleaners, drop visor, door visors.

That’s a nice looking rig my friend. Always have appreciated the different ways guys have customized their trucks.

There is a truck stop near me, I-80 Truck Stop in Walcott, IA, that holds a truckers jamboree every year where folks bring their trucks and show them off.

Yeah, I call BS on the 1/8” spacer making a difference in tracking as well but if it floats your boat, more power to ya!

It’s another one of those things that doesn’t make that much, if any difference for our application of heavy ass suvs, but the experience and knowledge gained will apply to camaros/vettes/other shit that does go fast (just like a titanium exhaust). The 1/8” up front did induce 1/8” of poke too so if nothing else I can claim to be a cool truck kid now.
I will be ordering a tig welder end of December.

Wow, she looks great Mike! You don't happen to have a Tech-2 or something similar do you??

Thanks Buddy, I take a lot of pride in that Yukon.

I have a FOXWELL NT510, it can do a lot of features but not everything the Tech 2 can. I wish it would let me program the dang navigation radio that I just scored at the local junk yard! Scored a Navi out of a 2012 Denali for $100 yesterday, but it is Vin locked

I couldn't believe when they said $100 for it. I already have the UQA package from the factory so it should be plug and play with the vin relearn to unlock it. Fingers crossed!

Greg at CPS in Cotati can hook you up if you don't have anywhere closer to you.

I got the rear spacers installed, drive around the cut-de-sac and then retorqued the lugs. I came inside and did some googling whilst eating dinner, and the GM half ton stuff apparently, runs about half an inch narrower in the back vs the 3/4 ton and 1 ton stuff runs about 1.5 or 2 inches narrower in the back depending on who you ask. I’m glad I bought both the 1/4” spacers in the back and the 1/8” spacers in front because I do want the front end wider.

What he needs performed is different than the unlocking code. The HUs are programmed with the VIN of the vehicle they're installed in and won't work if they detect a VIN from another vehicle. He needs the HU he got from the Denali unlocked so when he installs it in his Yukon, it'll accept and lock itself to his Yukon's VIN the first time it's powered up.
