I have the pioneer w8400nex https://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/NEX/AVIC-W8400NEX
only pioneer and kenwood have had wireless but jvc just came on board
I also use the maestro rr which interfaces with the obd port and gives me full operation of the bose y92
beats the heck out of a stock unit
the jvc or kenwood units are down to $499 now
Will see. I'd like to retain all of the stock speakers- that way i dont have to go thru and replace all that shit. I'll need to go to the stereo store this weekend and get information. Never had anything with steering wheel controls before.

Dropped it off at the dealer to get a broken exhaust manifold bolt replaced and alignment, I considered doing the bolt myself but I thought if I break one of the others off in the head removing the manifold i'm going to spending the whole day working on it and i've never had any luck drilling and using a easy out, easier for me to just have them do it and i can sit here and drink coffee :)

I never had steering wheel controls until I got this truck it's a nice feature, now every time I get in the Silverado i'm like dam this thing needs controls lol just need to get the steering wheel and clock spring for it.

Do you have the updated valve cover? maybe test blowby on a cold start bg flipping oil cap upside down and see how quickly its pushed back up?

They don't make it for our model year do they? My VIN#1GNFK130X7J144060. I was pondering pulling the cover off and modifying it myself to match the update style.

What engine code do you have? The only difference AFAIK is starting in 2009 they came with (or were supposed to anyway) come with the updated cover already installed.

I bought the updated one then, when I went to install it, found mine had already been updated so I sold the one I bought.

As far as I know the valve covers are the same on all of the gen 4 LS engines aren't they?

I think there's a total of three different designs. They all have the same basic casting and bolt pattern. The '07-'09 have one style of PCV nipple and the "faulty" PCV baffle with the hole in poorly thought out location. There's a cover with the revised PCV baffle thaat relocates the hole but retains the PCV nipple for the original hose to attach to. Then there's a third design that has the revised PCV baffle as well as a revised PCV nipple for the hose that the 2010+ have.

I believe so, I know the Gen 3 were the ones they came out with an updated one for. I put one on my 6.0.
Maybe? I only know of the updated one for the Gen4. Although, the updated one can be used on the Gen3. The nipple style doesn't matter if you have a catch can with regular hose and clamps.

You’re right, the TSB for the gen 3 is an updated pcv valve itself in the original valve cover. I installed the updated gen 4 in mine. And you can just use the original hose, just add a clamp iirc. I know I was running it without a catch can.

The alignment for sure helped the way the 07 drives now that it has the RC leveling spacers. I may post an actual review of them in the suspension-

I put clamps on every hose in every location, not saying you need to. But if I’m looking for vacuum leaks, I don’t want to start questioning whether that hose without a clamp might be the culprit. The problem I could see is that hoses tend to relax after a few years and although they might not leak initially that doesn’t mean they won’t later. Most catch can kits come with clamps. Mine came with AN fittings and spring clamps for the places where an AN couldn't be used.

Thats fair. I will put clamps on when I have some that're an appropriate size. When I do my oil cooler I'll be using AN fittings. I have the adapter to run hoses to a cooler but I need to order the cooler and fittings. One of those things I have to get around to.
