Door panels almost done. Need to recover the inserts in black and do something with the arm rests. I'm thinking wrap them in black leather with a double stitch seam for a classy look

You can epoxy, speqker grille mesh from behind/inside the dash for those defrost vents.
Which defrost vents? You mean the ones on top of the dash? Hell I forgot all about those needing done still haha. I have had a towel covering it up for so long i forgot

That looks amazing man I can't wait to see it all done. I'm sure you can't either haha
For sure man! It’s been way to long haha! I still have to put the big brake setup on it and repaint it. Damn why did I remind myself! Thank you and I’ll post more pictures of it so you can see. Outside looks like a shit box and the inside looks like it’s ready to go to a car show!

So I'm still tossing around the idea of painting the door panels either black with letter inserts like I did hear and covering the armrests in matching leather or maybe it will look better with the door panels color matched with black inserts and armrests. Keep in mind all the pillars are wrapped in leather. Give me your honest opinion on what color combo you like best
Black panels! I got black on black except the pillers and roof! They gray, wanna go all black! Good job! How spendy were the supply's?

Dude I probably have over 800 in just paint and supplies and last night I painted all the trim and still didnt have enough paint. I already went thru 2 quarts of just the sem paint and I'm going to have to go get another one today so I can spray the back 2 big side pannels and the rear window frame trim. I had them make a custom color to match and it cost me 100 bucks s quart! I painted the kick pannels with a spray can of sem landau black and it took a whole can to where it would cover and look OK. The colored paint comes out nice but takes alot to get full coverage. It helps to use a primer that's close to the color. I switched to the dupli-color adhesion promoter and it actually works really well better than the advantage. They can just goes pretty quick a lot quicker than I thought it would. I used a few cans of the Bulldog on stuff to it works as good. But yeah I want you count up all of the paint clear coat the sem paint sandpaper Scotch-Brite pads primer adhesion promoter all that stuff its way up there in price I wouldn't do it again that's for sure. I found companies that sell actual dyes that work badass and I could have just bought a big thing of black for under 100 and would have been good and they say it doesn't chip crack or peel. Look up www.autoleatherdye.com the stuff is badass. There are other companies that sell it to. You can wipe it on with a sponge it they re omend spraying it out of a gun to get a more uniform look

Yeah every single part is painted and prepped individual it's a pain. I just had to peel the front two pillars in the middle pillars back out of the truck tonight. I wrapped him in leather in the glue didn't hold so I had to take it back off wipe all the residue from the glue off sand the whole thing again and then I gave up for the night LOL it's so hot here in AZ I'm ready to just put a car cover over it until December

One thing I did that I really do not care for is the carpet along the bottom of the driver and passenger door panels I painted it black with sem paint. Watch the bunch of videos and read a bunch of shit about it, once again I had to find out the truth the hard way. To me I don't think it looks very good but luckily it's so far down your not really high level with it so nobody will ever notice I mean how many times have you rubbed the bottom of the door panel carpet with your hand to see what it feels like... never I'm sure LOL it's one of those things where the people that are writing about it did it in their truck and for sure they don't like it but don't want to admit it so they try to convince you that it's cool and looks good and feels good but yeah it doesn't even did what they say and use they hey stiff bristle brush. I made sure the carpet was clean as could be before doing it also. I know it was is clean as possible because I even power washed it when I clean the door panels a few weeks before. I tried it a few different ways just like I did my visors that didn't work out either but first way I really put a light mist and worked it in with the brush from all angles in the next time I kicked it on there and working in from all angles both ways came out with just about the sect same result when you brush it quite a bit the little nylon fibers start to gather up and then next thing you know there's a little like here's everywhere you're trying to sit there and pull out of it come together and looks like an old man with hair plugs look at it I watched one video on eBay where this guy was just going to town spring the shit out of it but he was doing the carpet in a vehicle and he kept saying so good you can't even tell nobody would notice if I never said anything and I was completely shocked like are you ******* me man haha what looks good

Such a sad moment! This is not one of the things you want to have trial and error while doing it. I have no idea why it came lose in certain spots because this stuff is glued on there so tight it's tearing the leather trying to pull it off

The only thing I could think of is maybe I need to prep it a little bit better but every inch of it was sanded before I laid it down I wonder if there's spots where I didn't get all of the cleaner off it or something. Anybody have any ideas?1534398968409962963530476276144.jpg

The seats are super comfortable tho. I have drove it around the neighborhood the last 2 nights and I’m impressed. I think the dura foam from the seat shop is where it’s at!! I was suppose to get the seats done for 150 each but the guy that I had do them is one of those guys who keeps asking for more money saying how hard something was. Hit me up first for an extra 250for more “supplies” and a few. Ore times after that but he did a killer job on them and I’m happy so it’s all good. It’s the material that cost a grip but I got a smoking deal on it. The material I used was Douglas leather , and it’s aircraft grade so it’s fire retardant I guess.each hide goes anywhere from 900-1100 or so depending on the sq. Ft. I’m trying to remember how many hides that I took him. Either 3 or 4 but he used them all.i think it was 3. So yeah the seats have around 4000 into them which just sounds full on retarded if you ask me! I have about half that into them which is still a lot. I don’t see how katzkin or the others can sell them for under 1000 unless it’s shirt materialand mostly vinyl

Had a bright idea to order a set of brembos for the front end on the beast. So now I have a set of seats that are worth more then the truck and now a big brake kit worth more then the truck to lol. I’m going to probably have the insurance company appraise the truck when I’m done. 2 nights ago while out in the garage late around 10pm A white four-door pick up did about six laps on my Block like scoping the place out then my neighbor came over and I told him about it in there ****** went by two more times just after I told him so we hopped in it and try to go find the A white four-door pick up did about six laps on my Block like scoping the place out in my neighbor came over and I told him about it in there ****** went by two more times just after I told him so we hopped in it and try to go find the dudes Where ever They went but we couldn’t and then last night the neighbor got home from softball pretty late right 11 and come over because the garage is open and asked me if I seen that truck pass again and I said no and he went home and not even 10 minutes after you were on that ************ came creeping by the garage again So I know you’re scoping out my garage and house now for sure what the name Dip to get his license plate number

Haha that's what a friend of mine asked me also. He also sad "so,...are you going to like freak the **** out if someone spills something in here". Thing is, I dont drive that truck hardley ever.maybe put 500 miles on it in the last 3 years. I mostly use it to just go trash around in the desert with it. So i will try to keep it nice but i know accidents happen. I was talking with one of the Reps at the company Douglas leather that makes that weather and asked him what kind of cleaning stuff and conditioner I should use on their leather and he told me not to use anything at all and if I have to just a light detergent soap and water. He said there were others already treated and will never need that so we will see about that
