Seriously though..... I have a major issue with the audio right now.

I had one blown sub to start with. When I put the truck in the garage and let it sit for like 4 years it was not blown. I suppose the sub deteriorated and fell apart after I turned the radio on fter so long. Then one day while listening to "Almost Hear You Sigh" the LR speaker blew. So I planned on getting another set, but have not ordered yet. Then last night I was driving the truck and Taylor Swifts "Delicate" comes on..... I turned it up just a little, not a lot since the other two are already blown. Dang it. The RR blew and the front right. TS is not delicate for the speakers I tell you what.

I don't know what it is with my speakers. They are 16 years old..... I suppose no normal person has OEM speakers for this long so they never get a chance to rot.

So now I guess I will be playing only Merle Haggard till next week.

The long body Z71 is looking great and all the maintenance/mods thus far are great. Just something about that longer look. That's why I love the wife's LTZ, but cannot go too crazy with it...

Just a pic of my 06 rear glass from some of your earlier posts about the top plastic piece, glass handle and that tree branch wiper.
Mine is an LS so everything was CMd. I personally was not a fan of the Esky 3rd on my truck. It looks good on say BigBearDenali's long body. I ditched the wiper and also the rear handle. Not a true shave, but the whole rear end now is pretty smooth.

I put EMF 6.5" SWAGS in my front doors and they handle the job nicely. @NathanJax mentioned them to me. New they are $150, so may be more than you want to spend. (I got lucky and found them used for 1/2 price.). I think Rocket Man just put in some Kickers recently for less than $100/pair.

Be interested to hear your thoughts on the Kicker sub. I looked at the that one and the MB Quart, but never ordered at this point.

There are inherent problems in the NBS for sure, but from a comfort standpoint, I love riding in the 06 more than the 13 or the work 18. The 06 cannot compete on the technology front with the NNBS or K2XX, but the simplicity of what it offered for it's generation is fantastic. The styling alone IMHO wins hands down, hence why the NBS thread is always so busy. Heck, even my kids like the seats better...lol and they ride in the 13 way more than the 06.

Keep up the good work man. Love to see it.:thumbsup:

Thank you :)

I don't think I will do the Escalade third. I passed on it once already and I'm okay with the way it looks for now.

I would LOVE to get ride of the wiper though LOL. Yours looks so clean. I love it.

The Kicker sub was a 109.00, the MB Quart was 49.00 when I looked last.

I have had all of them basically now OBS NBS NNBS..... waiting to get the 2015 style soon. I like them all honestly. The technology starts to suck though on the old ones. Like no Bluetooth and no hookups, lack of LEDs and back up cameras etc.

From a simple point of view though it is better to not have some of that stuff sometimes if you have a newer car. Can be fun to get in the old one and just drive. Why the old muscle cars and old trucks never lose their appeal for car guys :)

The last 2 paragraphs is what I was trying to relate to. No technology sucks when it is so easy and efficient, but on the other hand it is nice to not have so much B.S. computerized stuff going on. Simplicity is easy, but the comforts of having it all work and easy like back up cams and Bluetooth when we have gotten so used to it, is indeed very nice to have. Cooled seats, power steps and liftgate are pretty killer in the LTZ. Cannot deny that.

I like the technology of the K2XX and ease of everything at the fingertips (pros and cons that don't need to waste your thread space going into), but I still do like sitting in the 06 every time. Even if it is a bit "dated" by technology. lol

I wanted the modern conveniences of Bluetooth and a backup cam, but to pick up an NNBS, was a lot more money! Lol. So I settled for an NBS and less money and added the features later haha. Not exactly stock but I still have them!

Honestly, there will always be something else. The bar has been set by the European vehicles already for years. Every year more and more of those features trickle down to the common family vehicles. Heck the new Navigators make the new suburbans look like fleet vehicles.

Just depends on what you want. My first Chevrolet was a 1991 S10 with no power windows no power steering even and a 5 speed with 4 cylinder. When I got a 1992 explorer it was like I went to a Cadillac for me lol. Even though it had cloth seats it had so many things like AC haha
