On another note, the Cloyes timing set I ordered yesterday from Summit Racing was delivered today. Wow. And the next pile of parts starts. I just hope the Whipple is finally happy so I can move on.
Man that was fast!

Well it's not sorted out after all. After a short drive today then sitting in line at a drive through for awhile I felt it start idling rough and sure as f*ck by the time I got home the SES light was flashing again which I know is BAD. I turned it off, cleared the P0300 misfire code and it started up and ran normal. I shut it off and went inside. I'm so stressed out. I need my truck for work Monday. It seems like all I've been doing for 2 weeks is work on the damn blower and engine. This is killing me. BlackBear isn't open on weekends and I am not the greatest at diagnosing my engine. I just have to wait and see if I can get something figured out Monday. I sent Justin a couple data logs.

Yeah this suxs just watching..Just a shot in the dark, are you torquing the bolts to specs? I know factory intakes specs are fairly low.

As far as the lower intake manifold bolts, yes all of them since I can get to them with a torque wrench. As far as the blower to manifold bolts there's 4 of them that are impossible to get a torque wrench on. Also I really needed to have someone help lower the blower onto the manifold because it's a ***** but I couldn't find anyone to help. I might have rolled that stupid huge O-ring again. I don't know. I need Justin to analyze the data log or have a shop check for leaks or whatever.

I didn't give up. Decided to pull the plugs even though they were new as of 3 weeks ago. What with all the misses and stuff, I thought maybe they were a bit fouled. Holy sh*t the entire bank 2 were completely sooted out, like they had been running real rich. Bank 1 was fine. I replaced the plugs and test drove it. It did the same thing, started running terrible and the SES light started flashing, same code thrown P0300 but I got it home quick. Which got me to looking at what might have caused just one bank to foul. Then I remembered way back, right after I had fixed the heater hose that had come off and the engine had overheated, there was a DTC P0174 bank 2 upstream O2 sensor lean or voltage out of range. That could have been an intake leak which is what I thought it was. It could also mean the O2 sensor was bad. And from reading up on a bad O2 sensor, I learned that if the PCM is not getting readable data from an upstream one, it will run that bank rich as opposed to lean since running it rich won't cause engine damage but too lean will. It will foul plugs and cause misfires because it's so rich obviously, and throw codes, but it won't melt pistons. Which is real good in the case of a FI engine especially. I did keep an eye on the AFR on bank 1 with my AEM wideband but bank 2 I couldn't see. So I threw a new bank 2 upstream O2 sensor in and I'm almost positive I have it fixed. I just did over an hour of all kinds of driving and it's running perfect. Both the other times I took it out today it only made it a few blocks before it started running like crap and throwing codes. Fingers crossed!

Damn, I hope you got it this time. It's always the dumbest, or the least likely thing to cause your issue. I think you're good tho. You deserve a break! :waytogo:

Thanks guys. I was really stressing out, my head going to the worst possible case of course. I started looking for shops that would work on a supercharged engine and thinking about having it towed there. I figured I was looking at $1000 or $2000 lol. And how I could pack enough tools in my bagger and ride to work for a week or more, then deal with the Denali after work. I'm so happy right now. And my confidence is back. I haven't done this much work on an engine since before there were ECM's and all this computer-controlled stuff. And I still have a cam, valve springs and trunion upgrade still ahead. I might do the valve springs and trunion upgrade one weekend and the cam another. Baby steps. I'll take today and be happy.

This quote is one of my favorites and IMO pertains to your last 2 weeks. Can certainly appreciate your drive and technical savvy to accomplish some serious problem solving issues. Nice work man.

PERSISTENCE

Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not: the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.

Damn thing threw the SES light on today. DTC P0300 multiple cylinder misfires again. It's weird also, sometimes it fires right up and sometimes it has to crank for awhile , sometimes 5-6 seconds. I wasn't stressing though, and I collected a log and sent it to BB. They just got back to me with the best news I've had from them since this all started- NO evidence of a leak. Now we just have to figure out what the misfires are, and I have an idea. BB asked what plugs I installed. I've been using what Whipple recommended- NGK TR7IX iridium. And what's weird is that in the instructions at step 98 they state to "replace the OE plugs with the supplied NGKTR7IX, Gap .035". But then at the end of the instructions in the final notes they say they "recommend the use of a colder plug. Whipple has found that the NGK TR7IX plug works very well. We recommend a gap of .025." I've always been told to not attempt to gap an iridium plug, and these came gapped at .035 so I left them that way. I hope I just need hotter plugs. The TR7IX isn't even listed as a plug for my engine on the auto parts stores websites.

No leak, yeah boy! Others have had trouble with NGK in these trucks, too. You gonna throw Delco's back in there?

I can't run stock plugs. BlackBear said they run NGK TR6's and that TR7's are really cold. They want me to collect a data log using the "GEN III Misfire Option" in the Autocal. I didn't know it had that option. I'll go with what they recommend.
