Need to update this:

10/28/16: Tinted windows finally, made a huge difference!

image.jpeg

10/31/16: Wife side swiped a pole while backing up. No pics of damage, but caused $500 worth. Going in on 12/5 to get repaired along with a couple other problem areas.

11/19/16-11/27/16: Vacation!

Drove over 2,000 trouble free miles! With exception of my speedometer stepper motor calling it quits.

Brothers suburban and my Yukon sitting in front of Fort Pulaski in Savannah, GA. Really cool place to go through.

Yukon sitting at the rental home, didn't take pictures of the house for some reason

Lastly, sunset from the ferry on our way back from Cumberland Island.

Paint? Body work?

Repairing damage from a pole my wife sideswiped while backing up. Fixing the Rust beginning on the inside door seams. Repainting Inside of rear hatch where oxidation has started. Also going to have a dent fixed in the passenger door that's been there since we bought it.

This will be an area for me to keep track of the modifications done to my wife's DD Yukon XL. Nothing too exciting, but going to make it look better along the way as well as function better in daily form.

Here is a picture of the Yukon shortly after we bought it:

Couldn't leave the vehicle quite, so I ordered a Magnaflow 12259 from Norcal SS and a look-a-like Corsa exhaust tip off Amazon and put them on:

Left the Yukon alone for about a month until I found a good deal on a set of OEM 20's from Massivespl on here:

That is where we are as of now, Have a few maintenance items to take care of and then it will get the front windows tinted and a few other items such as de-badged and possibly de-molded. But really happy the direction it is going so far.

Is that the factory run out with the tip on the end of it? Looks a little higher...I really like the look of it

Got the Yukon back from the body shop today. The repair work looks pretty good, very pleased with how clean the bottom of the doors are now, however they didn't do 3 of the smaller things I wanted done, so it will Go back for a day next week hopefully to finish it up. No pictures yet as its cold as heck here and the Yukon is dirty. Fixed my stepper motor issues too...

It's a Dorman Refurbished unit. Love the look and having all the gauges working again.

Gotta say (again) that this is a really great looking rig. Not flashy, but not boring, either. Looks tuned for serious business.
Nice job @Countryboy07

Thank You!!! That means a lot, a lot of people, mostly non car people, wouldn't even notice the little things. My goal is to keep it clean, OEM appearing, but better than when it left GM.

Did this last night as the snow started falling, All cleaned up from the body shop, have a little overspray to clean up on the roof, but all in all, came out pretty good!

And 5 minutes later as I backed it out of the shop...

This statement is exactly how I approach modifying/improving vehicles. Most people don't notice the little things.....yet the the result is definitely improved, definitely cleaner, and definitely better/stronger than stock. And usually only car guys/gals can tell what's different. Nice.

Do your thing, brother.
