That's called a lower step pad. There a square piece that attaches to cover the reciever part of the hitch.

Yea I want a hd front too :-/

I was confused too about the lower piece. I get it now. I didn't know that the nbs Denali came with a piece that fits into that space. Mine doesn't have it. And all the nbs denalis I see don't have them either. And now I want one haha. But I also want to color match that whole lower piece. I hate non painted plastic. It's cheap and I can't do anything to prevent it from fading. And so far I haven't had any good luck with any of the products that claim to restore plastic. So painted to match it is for me. I think it will look much better painted.

Yea no pics. I know I sound crazy but I remember seeing the covers back when these trucks were new, but I didn't see too many. Maybe it was aftermarket maybe it was factory but I swear I have seen this mysterious cap before.

And I wanna paint to match too but will it be too much? Will it make the rear look too fat or big? I haven't seen it painted before

You def don't want to go around with a big or fat rear! Lol
I know you're not talking about this, but is it similar to this maybe ?

I don't think it's going to make it look big or fat. I think he's talking about a whole cap that fits that whole square space. Although I don't think it would work as my hitch doesn't sit flush with where the cut is in the plastic bumper pad. My receiver sticks out just a little bit beyond the pad.

Yea talking about the whole square space , it bulges out to form around the hitch.
Search nnbs 07+ hitch covers or caddy covers and it's similar to that.
Like I said I havent seen one in years, not since our truck were new. And remember only seeing a few back then. Not sure if factory or aftermarket, either way I'll find one or make one

Interesting. I know what the newer ones look like. I think a similar shape in my back bumper there might look a bit odd haha. I'll be interested to see how this plays out if you find one.

@05Single , found this in a Google search for that Denali piece. It says it's for the nbs Tahoe and suburban. Might work with your stock Tahoe bumper if you leave it one.

Lol funny you found that cause that was the original plan for me to use. But hard to even find those. And was thinking of hacking one up to fit with the denali bumper lines.
I hate how the hitch is sticking out. I want it covered either way.

Is that one made for the denali ?I don't think it is. Doesn't look like it has the lower plastic part that goes to the hitch .Looks to be on a reg Tahoe bumper .

Yeah that's the same piece in the link I found. For regular tahoes and suburbans. But not the Denali unfortunately. If that's the only option I may try and find one and trim it to match my Denali lower pad shape.
