Hey family, I am currently without a truck and intending to change that! I grew up in my parents Suburban and later bought my own ‘Project Denali’ and a very rusty Sierra. Now that I have saved up some money I am ready to pull the trigger on a nice GMT800. I have a good idea of what I’m looking for but the main thing is NO RUST and NO major body damage. I am very good with mechanics but not paint and body.
I intend to keep whatever I buy for a very long time and make a build thread on the forum with lots and lots of pictures! I am open to flying south or west (I’m in MI currently) and roadtriping back so location is not much of a problem. Below is what I am searching for, thank you in advance for you help in my search. I am so excited to get back in one of these trucks! Ideally I would like to make a purchase within the next two weeks if possible. Lastly, I would prefer to get a truck from here and if someone can help me find, inspect and/or send pictures I will pay to make that worth your time.
What I need:
2003, 2004, 2005, or 2006 model years only
Truck or SUV but no extended cab trucks
No body or frame rust/rot (some surface rust on the frame is ok)
No black or white paint vehicles
Clean title in hand ready to go
Price around 5000-6000 can’t go over $7000
What I really want:
Documented history and maintanance
Short wheelbase SUV tahoe or yukon preffered most
Strong performing transmission
Paints Redfire/Garnet, Sport Red, Indigo Blue, Dark Blue/Deep Blue, Spiral Gray/Carbon, Bermuda Blue/Blue Green
Cloth or gray leather
Working air conditioning
Under 180,000 miles preferred but
condition means more to me than miles
Untouched stock radio
Healthy tires and alignment (for
roadtrip back at least)
