I hate that my 2008 Escalade doesn't have the instant MPG "gauge" since my 2007 SRX has it and my old 2005, 2006, and 2007 STS' all had it. I want to change out the cluster with one from a newer truck that has it and I'll just get the mileage programmed to match my truck. I thought I remembered seeing a thread somewhere about it but I can't find it now. What year did the instant MPG start in the Escalade? If the cluster shows the ambient temperature and compass (which appears to be 09-14) is that the one that will have the instant MPG?

My 12' has it and my 04' had it too. The one that shows up on the screen in the cluster?

Yes. The 2007 and 2008 Escalade I know for sure do not have it. I just don't know if it started in 2009 with the L9H or if it started with the AFM and the L94.

My 2011 Silverado was an LT2 with the L9H 6.2 and it did not include Instant MPG in the DIC, only AVG MPG, my 2013 Avalanche is an LS and came with the LMG 5.3 and it does have Instant and AVG MPG in the DIC, so I don’t think it’s tied to the L9H, my guess would be it’s in the 2012+ Cluster

Not specific to the 6.2l but my '08 Suburban LTZ has the LMG 5.3l and it has both the instant and average MPG.

I am not certain if this is cluster related or if it has to do with the programming in the BCM.
