My buddy from work helped me out on this project. Was driving the tank like it was a muscle car on my way home from work on a Friday. Rears another gt4 out of a 97 tahoe picked outta the boneyard for $275 unknown miles but seems to still work fine today like 6k miles later. Although while I was limping it home in 4x the shrapnel bound up in the rear and locked it up a couple times. That was unpleasant as well. Broke my phone later that day too and that blew too. This was last October though.

The replacement in the back of my exploder fn up the interior on our way from lovely ace auto salvage (been kinda trying to sell it/kinda just letting it sit around keep for spare, it's got some aches and pains people are scared of) glad I hung on to the exploder after buying this yukon though!

Did the whole front end on it. EXCEPT I found someone had snapped off one of the sway bar bracket bolts in the past and just welded a spot weld in the corner of the bracket holding it on. So ground that off ended up snapping the other bolt head too, broke 2 drill bits off inside one of the bolts and finally after getting a shit load of metal shavings down my shirt to work in for the rest of the day on this damn thing finally said screw it ill go without the damn sway bar. After all, the original sway bar itself had broken anyway so I basically hadn't had one anyway. This was in November, had my truck apart for 2 weeks and 3 weekends working on this ***** (although I had only worked on it probably 5-6 days in that time period, it's frickin November in MN!) also I didn't do the pitman/idler arm or centerlink. That stuff all seemed pretty tight I guess, couldn't detect any play in it. THE BIGGEST ***** OF ALL on this project was cutting through the lower control arm bolts and bushings, it's hard to avoid hitting them bushing sleeves with a sawzall. Went through several carbid grit (not too cheap) sawzall blades cutting through them ******. The bolts were seized in the bushings hence the headache that ensued. Them bushings were in bad shape so it needed to be done. All new hardware on everything except the wheel hub bolts and brake caliper/bracket bolts. I even sandblasted and painted one of my lower control arms all pretty on my breaks at work but it was taking waaay too long so I only have one nice pretty lca haha. ALSO this being a mn vehicle a partly anticipated the torsion bars being seized in the lcas. DING DING DING the drivers side was pretty easy, the passenger side though, oh my gosh I must've whacked it a thousand times with a big ass 9 pound hammer and heated and sprayed it a dozen times before it finally came out. My arms and patients were DEAD. I'm telling you it was 3-4 hours. For one fn stupid a-- seized thing. Needless to say, I slathered everything heavily with anti seize when I was putting everything back together. And I turned my lower ball joints the wrong way so they can't be greased so guess who gets to replace some lower ball joints again this spring!! Yay but at least I have an idea what I'm doing now and shouldn't be too bad.

i will be a bit of a posting ***** here... today got out before it got cold to install new pyle 4 x 10 in the rear. starting to piece together my complete system. these pyles had huge magnets on them for 4 x 10's... made a difference. I installed 1" wheel spacers in the rear to bump out the tires a bit. I think it achieved the perfect stance I was looking for not obvious , but noticeable. to cap it off, I popped in some chrome center caps on the LTZ replicas with the bowtie logo on them for a nice OEM look. I have fallen in love with this truck all over again!

Yeah, I felt pretty offended there. Like WTF did I do to this dude? He doesn't even know me!

I put a new battery in my 96 Hoe today. Still can't drive it, but Monday or Tuesday, I'll drive it out to the farm, dad's friend owns a farm where he has a barn and we have a lift in it. Once I get it to the farm, I'm changing out all 4 O2 sensors, and then I will tinker with my timing, to see if I can get it set. If my O2 sensors fix the codes I'm throwing, and I can get the timing set (4 degrees advanced at present), then I should be able to atleast start driving it, and have a little more power.

Fixed cigarette lighter again. Fixed 3 port cigarette lighter again. Put primer on the rust spots I repaired. Drive to Walmart.

Replaced TPS sensor and MAP sensor. Also replaced the air filter. And truck still idles high. Tomorrow I'm going to spray the throttle body gasket for leaks and maybe get a idle valve. and replace the air conditioner.
