What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I need to increase my knowledge about what one can do with HP Tuners, because I had no idea this was a function. I've only used mine for disabling the AFM and some mild tuning. Thanks!

it depends on the vehicle and what's defined for you. but you can turn off most of the diagnostic tests the ecm runs.. it's good for engine swaps and stuff where you're in a 60s car with a manaul tranny and no cats needed. it's technically illegal to do, but they get around defeating emissions stuff by making you take a online test these days to access that section, and you have to know what you're doing on your own. all the info on their message board is there from years ago, but if someone asks a question and it brings it to the top they wipe all the how to's out. so it's slowly being lost

back in the day they just had a check box to click when yoh removed cats, it just automatically passed all the i/m test instantly but that option is removed, now you gotta dig thru each fault code relates to rear o2 sensors, and set to not report error and not set mil light. there's like 10 different tests for those alone. I still have the very old first version dongle and try to never update the software to avoid them removing functions like that. but they have me, as the first dongle still works, but they no longer allow you to buy credits for it. I think I have 2 left. when those are used up, if I need to unlock another car. I'll have to upgrade.

Thanks for explaining all that. It's definitely a reaction to various tuners being taken to court by the gubment. I understand why they've done it, but I don't like it.

As for disabling stuff during drivetrain swaps, that's going to depend on the state. In Georgia, for example, large swathes of the state don't have emissions testing, and for those that do, it's a rolling 25-year cutoff.

I may or may not have decided to lower it as well. Oil pressure sensor and master cylinder with a brake bleed this week, then off to the alignment shop.

If anyone wants to pick up the old arms let me know, they're yours.

Mine was a garage queen for the first 6 years of her life… then she was banished to the driveway when i got the ‘19 yuk and it all went downhill from there…stupid NY and their crappy salty roads….

For a change my yukon did something for me this weekend, Glamping and crushing trails in northern Minnesota at the Gambler 500.

I'd been noticing a teensy bit of moisture buildup in the right taillight, then we had some heavy rain and the teensy bit became a significant amount. I pulled the taillight and set it hole-side-down on the HVAC exterior unit and it was completely dried out in about 20 minutes. It turns out that the "breather" membrane at the top of the upper reflector had come loose and was letting water in, which eroded the silvering below it, as well as at the corners on the bottom where water pooled. I tried to clean off the staining where the water had been resting, to no avail. Then I fabricated a "breather" using a spray can tube and metal foil tape (let's hope water doesn't get in uphill via capillary action). It looks fine from 12' away, but I know it's "disfigured."

(yeah, there's a weird color shift on the one picture, but it wasn't worth it to get out my DSLR to get the colors right)
