What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

When I got home from work last night at 7:30 I parked and went to my drivers side to get my bag out of the front seat.

I heard a hissing sound and it was coming from the right front tire. And it was half way down. FK ME

I had to hurry up and turn the truck around to face the garage and get the jack under it before the bumper got too low.

I just made it in time and got it up in the air. Polly the wheel and saw where a screw used to reside and looks like it popped out. I plugged it and checked it with soap water and looked fine.

I came out to go to work this morning and it was halfway down again. I filled it up and took it right to the shop.

The fronts are very low tread and need replaced anyway. I was hoping to do it myself but time will not allow it.

So I’m out another 300 bucks and have to watch somebody else wrench on my baby. sucks.

Appreciate the info, ill do some test fitting tonite to see what ill need to do. Pretty determined to use the escalade mirrors as i like the painted mounting finish and small touch of chrome to match my handles.

if you are going from Denali to Escalade there should be no wiring changes needed, if you do not have blindspot already it won't work regardless, if you do have it then everything will work the exact same. You might have to swap the base mount over if anything, which is not hard to do it just requires taking the mirror apart to fit the wiring thru the base. If you wanted the base to be color matched then the original existing base will need to be painted also.

We’re on our way. While doing this I want to get the puddle lights to be on any time the dome light is on. Anyone have a good place to tap in on the front doors? The trim is different, but I like the turn signals and overall mirror better so I’ll probably try to make a panel cover that I can live with.

Ideas on puddle on when dome light is on?

Seems like i tried to use the Escalade lower window trim and it would not work either.
Doubt most people would even notice the gap but once seen it can't be unseen.
I ended up using the Denali mount and the Escalade outer chrome piece with the puddle light.

The net positive of the other features will make me keep them. Like the painted finish much more than the textured plastic. I’ll figure something that I can live with.

I ran 1 wire from the BCM interior light positive output thru the door to the orange/white (center pinned) one.
that's all you need for the puddle light to operate with the interior light/door open etc. it is already grounded so no need for 2 wires.
it does not cause any errors or problems, if you do a full vehicle scan with a tech2 it will detect a short-to-ground on that circuit but it does not affect anything it just knows it is there. I suppose if you were doing some in depth interior light troubleshooting the wire could be disconnected if necessary.

should be pin 18 dark blue/white, check and verify with a meter, one end of meter to a ground source, the other end of meter to pin 18.
might be tricky to do with the drivers door open, maybe roll down the window and connect the meter then use the remote and hit unlock, that should activate the interior lights and there should be power on pin 18 which goes out when the the remote is used again to lock and the interior lights go out the power should turn off on pin 18.
also check that I do not have the wrong source and it instead provides power with the headlight switch on. I am sure that is the correct pin though

the orange white wires are for the puddle light, in order to activate the puddle light in daytime you will need to cover the dash sunsensor with a jacket or something, the puddle lights only come on when the sensor detects it is dark out

I’m thinking I’ll just add a fuse tap to the dome fuse, and go directly to the mirrors, unpin the orange white and just do a spade connector that meets at the switch panel. I’ll double check the power before I start changing stuff

whatever works for you, I connected mine because I have a aftermarket alarm/remote and it does not turn on the puddle lights, but it does turn on the interior lights so i linked them together

After doing some looking I should just be able to tap the fuse for courtesy lights then unpin door harness at the fuse box for the 2 door harness and do that. Basically the same thing just different points of connecting. Gotta do some more looking in a couple hours

problem is, the puddle lights run off of a chip in the door switch, thanks to gm using more lan data to reduce wiring.
therefore the puddle lights are "digital"
the only way to activate them 'manually" is to run power, they are always grounded.

yep been there done that, the only reference to puddle lights is from the door switch.
it gets even worse on the K2's with gds2, more bus's and all kinds of fun stuff
the T1's are even more fun and games there saying wiring repairs should basically not be done and the harness should be replaced when necessary or everything has to be fully shielded and insulated because it can cause interference on the lan. matching wire size, etc apparently millamps or microamp differences "can" cause havoc
