I got a fkn flat tire when I went to pick up dinner. I must have picked something up and it came back out. I saw the small hole and the fresh screw or nail head mark on the tread. It was fine on the way there and when I parked.

When I came out with my carry out and went to leave I saw the tire warning on the dash. I just replaced those TPMS this past weekend.

I was like wtf one failed already??? I went to back out and the old girl was resisting. SHEET.

I got out and the right front was on the damn rim. I limped it under some parking lot lights so I could see and started to install the spare.

I love the lowered life, UNTIL you need to get the damn jack under the truck. Holy shoot. That sucked!

If I didn’t have that push bar on the front I would have been in deep do do. I used that to get it up enough to block it up to get the jack under the LCA.

Seriously considering removing the running boards so I can get a fkn jack under the frame rails if this happens again.
Certainly was a rough learning experience. Got some homework to do for sho…
How much space do you have under your running boards?

Replaced the four outer brake hoses, and was going to replace the two inner-rear hoses, but realized I only bought one. Dang.

Sll six of the hoses are still in serviceable shape, with no cracks, rot, or serious rust, but RockAuto had some super cheap on clearance, so I ordered them all (or so I thought).

The old fluid was yuck, as usual.

I'm a dummy... I just realized I had all four wheels off the car at the same time for the brake hoses, and just did an oil change the other day. I should have rotated the tires while I had the chance last night.

With a flat front tire it's 2-3" off the ground. I can't get my mini floor jack under it. I should have turned the wheel maybe. I'm gonna get a scissor jack and add it to the arsenal I keep in the truck. And some blocks of wood.

I wonder how far you can lift the rear end up via the pumpkin, and then slide some stands in under the front, or at least the jack.

you could use something like this, but I think there are cheaper ones around somewhere

Pulled off factory rail, and test-mounted the Yakima parts I've had laying around for years. The hardware matches the threaded holes in the roof. Neat.

make sure you take some pictures of those lights open. id like to see how the existing projectors are mounted in there
Ok I didn’t open them up but kinda took some pics of them. To me it looks like too much work and I’ve got too many other projects. I WOULD like to know if anyone has a link to some H1 LED bulbs for the high beams that are clockable and don’t cost $80-200. The Fahren ones I usually use and in other sizes have a set screw where you can rotate the beam until it’s correct- vertically so the led’s point to the sides. These are about 20 degrees from being vertical and even though they say it’s a 360 degree bulb, it can’t be.

BTW these are Spyder although they were sold as ACANII brand. The big red box says Spyder. The fiber optic bar has been modified and can do some cool startup routine. I don’t know if they bought them unassembled and modified them or opened them up.

So my home state - New Hampshire - just passed legislation to officially end the requirements for a state vehicle inspection. I'm not sure it the best idea given the amount of salt that destroys the unseen areas of a car, but ... It looks like headers are back on the menu.

I'll had been asking around about how to attack the goal of getting some cats. welded into the collectors & Y-pipe during installation, but now it looks like I could install them, flash the tube, then work on the best way to add cats after the fact.

Excellent, thank you for the photos. Interesting about them being Spyders, lightwerkz.net sells a spyder quick retro bracket for the MH1 projectors.

Still trying to debate if i should order new lenses for mine ( something happened to the clear on the outside and its flaking off ) or order a set like these and redo the retro. i really like the c-bar led but not sure if its too JDM or not

I did a retrofit using those Spyder brackets on another set and they were easy; those mounted from the back and I was able to do it without opening up the headlights. that’s what I was hoping for with these. But they’re different and they would require opening up the headlights and then seeing what would work. I can see the mounting screws from the front, that’s why I know I’d have to open them up to have a look, and then order parts etc. I don’t want to make a career out of this so I just want to find a set of H1 LED bulbs that are oriented vertically in these

Couple of days ago on the highway, the truck got 14.75 mpg in a 2-way average at 73 mph on E85 @ 74% with the 3.73 gears.

Today she averaged 15.7 mpg @ 66 mph with the same fuel.

Back in 2018, with 100K fewer miles and running KO2s, she averaged about a mile less per gallon at the same speeds with the same fuel.

Drives so nice when the air pressure is the same in all of the tires! I strive to get them to within 1/2 pound of each other.

What pressure? The one on the door sticker?

I seemed to have successfully balanced 2 of my front wheels/tires on the bubble balancer using the "Y" method. Spun her up to 85 MPH tonight, very smooth. Very gratifying. Will do the other 2 in the rear over the holiday weekend.

I have onboard air and hook up all 4 tires at the same time so they equalize with each other as I fill them.
