Over the weekend I finally got my garage all cleaned up and organized my gallon jugs of motor oil, gear oil, and transmission fluid.
before I had them stacked on the floor. :jester:

I pulled the tahoe in the garage, started by removing the serpentine belt, and the AC compressor belt.
Squashed my thumb a little while trying to stretch the belt off.
:lol2:

Then I remembered something, I have a .22 that's being shipped.
And the battery in my S10 is dead as a doornail.
Debating about getting one of those jumper packs, or just replacing the battery.

I think the jumper pack is the better option since I'm not sure if I'll even keep the S10 in the end.

Good news: No noticeable end play in the crank.

I'll probably pull the door panel off this week and change the heated seat switch and maybe even finally change that door lock switch/solenoid. :jester:

Weird one for you guys - I had to replace my trans dipstick tube. Apparently I bought the truck like this. I knew it was loose, but I just assumed the bracket wasn't attached to the back of the engine block. I can't figure out a break like this would have occurred. Any thoughts?

In other news, I changed the oil with Costco full synthetic 5W-30 and Delco PF63 filter. It improved my oil pressure quite a bit. Idles at over 30 and cruises at 40 now. It was more like 25 or so at cruise before. Punching it will bring it up to 45 or 50. The oil filter it came with was CarQuest brand, smaller size like a PF48. About a month ago I reported here that removing the screen below the oil pressure sender helped, but it really didn't - after driving it a bit more it became apparent that not much had changed.

Holy crap! Maybe cracked from a weakness from a pinch weld on the bracket?

I renewed my tags for five more years. I was going to buy a new generation (probably the diesel), but I like this one and it hasn't cost me anything hardly in repairs. So I am good to Feb 2028! At which time I should have 200K+ miles (I am at 134K now). In Ohio it is relatively cheap; only cost $320 for five years.

Replace it and do the fluid!
I hope it hasn't been like that for long...
I did replace it. When I noticed this my first thought was, crap, fluid level is probably wrong. But after the fix, fluid level was less than 1/2 quart low. Fluid is very clear and light pink. I think I will still do a pan drop in the near future though

bruh...lemme tell ya. **** the dmv down here
when i had the cmax. i bought it a month or so before i had to register it and i intentional only had dealer register it cause i could only get the HOV sticker when i registered it at renewal. its not a huge deal but cuts tolls and lets you burn down the hov lane by yourself.

came time to renew, sent in registration for 2 years and HOV tag for 2 years. kicked back the HOV registration cause first year could only be 1 year, ok whatever no problem.

1 year on HOV ended, so i went to renew it. they kicked it back cause i had to pay someone else now and had to be done within 30days of birthday. sent again-they kicked it back and said it was already registered, sent it again-they kicked it back and said it had to be registered at the same time as the car registration. in the middle of all this i ended up getting ******* ticketed cause the hov sticker was expired, explained to this **** head i sent the shit in 3 times, carried all the paperwork around with me, took that shit to court and explained to them the situation

this was all happening during covid and they shut down all the in person buildings, i had to make an appointment which was like 6 months out. finally got in to talk to an actual person and it was just some glitch where they literally could not renew it without the car registration at the same time. meanwhile i have pending tickets that if i cant renew the shit ive gotta pay for this crap. and they were just like eh wait a few months till birthday comes around again, which i could not even get an appointment in the same month to come back and do it. so at this point im like wtf.

they had me sell my car to myself, transfer the title out of and back into my name and start registration on the car and the sticker again after being at the dmv for like 6 hours. most ridiculous shit ever, for a ******* 11 dollar sticker. its was just the principle of the matter at that point. buncha ******* idiots and shit system

Holy Smokes! That would drive me nuts. Here in my little town we have a little title office and the ladies in there really do work with people to get their business done.

Lol during covid I bought the tahoe.
Long wait out to even get an appointment so I could register the damn thing.

Me thinking I'll get a temp tag online?!
Online: make an appointment with the local dmv. :banghead:

So I'm like fk it, drove around with my damn title in the glove box with my bill of sale.

I see a cop pull behind me, looked really hard at the area that's supposed to have my licence plate.
He looks focused, so I'm like "here we go!"

Then he gets a disappointed look on his face, shrugs his shoulders, hands doing the fk it whatever thing.

Speeds up and passes me. :Bye:

Those days are gone for me. I sit and think back to having littles like your lil princess. I treasure those memories.

GD right bro. :console:

Closest I can find easily. Taken over the summer. The one in the middle is our friends’ daughter. All tuckered out from a hike in Shenandoah National park.

That’s the key. Soak those moments in and savor every one.
