I've been awaiting the arrival of GMT900s to my local pull-a-part yards, so I could do some more customizing. I FINALLY got an alert of a new arrival today of the first one to show up close to me. Then I take a look:eek::eek::eek::

What was the point? I mean there's almost nothing left. I suppose someone could get a rear wiper arm, or bumper cover.

I'm sure that was one of the rare dashboards with zero cracks too LOL :Big Laugh:

Got everything loaded into the ol s10, ready for a machine shop run!

My new pistons, i was happy to see that sealed power added a nice oil ring return path.
The oem pistons had no such provisions.

Apparently that leads to oil burning, and carbon build up in those oil rings if the oil has no escape.

Power steering flushed and new fluid. And replaced yet another worm clamp with a spring. Whoever worked on this before has a thing for worm drive clamps.

I hate those damn things. Spring clamps FTW! :)

Funny how one guy takes em all off and the next guy is like spring clamps FTW.

I like spring clamps by the way.

parts are now at the machine shop.
Old man was there, glad to see he didn't retire!

He totally understood what i was trying to do, the younger guy i think thought i was on drugs. :Big Laugh:

Maybe 1-2 weeks before i have it.
from there, i get to do measurements, drawings, then bring my heads back to the machine shop.
from there he will help me calculate CR, and if needed we can lower via modding the heads. :ehcapt:

I also bought two gallons of break-in oil, Lucas brand.
I was going to use VR1, but then i saw the price doubled all of the sudden on summit and amazon.

Overkill i know, but i figure wth lets get this thing broken in as cleanly as possible,
:emotions133:

I can't wait to have this thing done, but i'm going to try and detail everything out and not rush it.
