What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Noticed during my monthly inspection that one of the boot clamps was missing on the front diff output from the transfer case, $10 and some change from the dealer, you have get it on there tight and then pinch the fat part, I just used some channel locks so not sure if it is on 100% but it's tight if I have to do it again I will use some nail cutters to pinch it better

there is a rubber boot on the front output of the transfer case, it's the same boot that came off and ripped your project vehicle wire harness out, it takes 2 of these clamps one on the front and on the back. or @iamdub 's project vehicle rather....

Dorman replacement on the way. But I gotta tear pretty far into the door. Sheesh.

there is a rubber boot on the front output of the transfer case, it's the same boot that came off and ripped your project vehicle wire harness out, it takes 2 of these clamps one on the front and on the back. or @iamdub 's project vehicle rather....

Oh- that is no longer a project. That next week, we had lots of rain and it got a little flooded. Really, it was just the transmission that took on water. But he had full coverage and has already bought a replacement. A MUCH nicer '06 Yukon XL SLT. 2WD this time. He may get it over to me next weekend to assess it.

Received my 8 meter cable for the dashcam rear camera today (the 6 meter it came with wasn't long enough), so I wired up and mounted the rear camera.

The 6m might've worked if I ran it on top through the headliner, but I didn't want to mess with the airbags.

I ordered an 8m one and ran it across passenger side tucked into headliner and down the A pillar (only airbag I had to deal with) and down to the kick panel. Then back under the door sill trim pieces to the rear 3rd seat and cargo area where I tucked it under the trim plastics. Once to the rear I pulled the pieces off across the top of both the interior and liftgate, and in the corner where the speaker is. I ran the cable up the rear corner then across the back of the headliner and through the rubber boot that houses the wires going to the liftgate. I filed a notch in the backside of the liftgate top trim piece for the cable to come through and attach to the camera which is mounted on that trim piece right behind the glass.

This leaves no big cable loops and allows the camera to raise with the liftgate, but stays put when the glass is raised.

Hey, quick question. How did you wire your camera? Did pretty much the same install and can't figure out how to wire it, can't find switched fuse.

I used the upfitter plug-in box under the dash next to the brake pedal. See this post for pic and pin-out discriptions.

The narrower .125 female spade connectors slip right onto these pins

The pin labeled ignition will power off when key is turned off. The pin labeled accessory is retained power and will keep power until driver door is opened or 20mins pass.

The pin labeled ignition will power off when key is turned off. The pin labeled accessory is retained power and will keep power until driver door is opened or 20mins pass.

Thank you for that, spent hours searching online on how to wire it before found your post. Gonna wire it to ignition since I have a Blackvue battery pack.

My grandad that owned my tahoe before me had this issue too. Wound up needing a new cluster.

After thinking about it, I remembered I used an old custom wiring harness that partially worked for my tail light issue. So I'm going to switch back to stock. I'm gonna check the fuse tomorrow and replace the lights as well. Should I disconnect the battery and let everything reset or just swap and see what happens?

yeah not on the freeway 88 would be almost double in a 45 zone on a curve next to a police station

id personally just swap the harness and see what happens

One of my rear defrost tabs fell off. I noticed that it was poorly fixed at some point before I owned the truck. I decided to solder it back on but there is nothing left for me to solder to. I found a 2007 Tahoe at a salvage yard and decided to swap out the rear glass as long as it was in good shape. Wife saw me getting the tools out I would need to take the glass off and said she didn't care so much about the rear defrost right now especially since it is summer now. So I took both sets of wires and tucked them up in the liftgate plastic on top for now. I'm sure I should have just gone to the place and grabbed the glass anyways especially if I could get one in good condition for $100 or less. I'm sure I'll be freezing my ass off doing the swap in a few months....

Is there anything that can be done to prevent this from happening or at least prolong the inevitable? Maybe heat up the coiled cord with a heat gun and stretch it to relieve some of the tension on that connection?

After i soldered my pass side back on, i just grabbed both wire coils and stretched them. No heat, no nuthin.. and they stayed...

Yeah, no.

So I swapped back in the old tail lights and they work. Dash still is not on. Going to check the fuse and see if they are burnt out. I figure that is probably the issue since the harness was bad.

Make sure you check the oil on your dipstick first, tho
