I don't know if I posted this already. It's just a pic of how it looked in the daylight during the first trip out since mounting up the de-clads and swapping the handles:

Ugh. Still have so far to go. Lose the chrome mirror caps and grille, slam it, paint the wheels, maybe clear reflector in headlight...
Great job with the caps. Still lovin' the declads.

What are you waiting for?;)

To more accurately answer this, I'm waiting on my buddy to get his truck over to my shop since I promised him the chrome handles and mirror caps. Otherwise, I would've painted the chrome ones LONG ago. I guess I'm just too good a friend for my own good sometimes. :(

I LIKE those! Now if there was only a 5-spoke version...

Changing out the ground wire and rvc sensor, not hard but I reached my hand thru part of the front bumper from underneath to support my wrench I was using to take the nut off the opposite side, all went well until I tried to pull my hand out! Mini panic moment I was stuck, thank God for grease! That could have went bad pretty easily.

Funny how easy you can put a hand into a tight space but can’t get it back out isn’t it? BTW what’s an rvc sensor?

ya I was like ah ****, at least my kids are here I can have them grab some cooking oil from the kitchen, lol after a couple tries I managed to get out of it, getting the nut tightened back up was the hardest part because it's facing the opposite direction and so it threads the opposite way i'm glad it was kinda loose taking it off the first time, if the bumper was off it would be a lot easier, now I just need to know how much to torque the engine ground strap.

I’d say TAF. I never use a torque wrench on things like ground straps.

Aluminum head? Unless there's a threaded insert (heli-coil), much tighter will strip the aluminum threads in the head

2001 Yukon SLT
2012 Yukon Denali XL
2011 Yukon Denali RIP 5/20/18
it had threads in the head for the bolt, so I don't know but I cranked it to 50lbs it was a little tighter than that at first then I loosened it a little, so it was it is...lol I didn't see the 18lbs until I started poking thru the service manual.
