Installed a new stereo with Android Auto and Car Play... Found it on Amazon for $179! Works great.

Also solved a horrible rattling sound in my dash. Pulled the passenger airbag and all trim and had my wife drive me around only to realize that I forgot to bolt down the Optima battery I installed in it last week. Wasn't even a dash rattle. Doh!

Chassis looks very similar to the Pioneer MVH-300EX I put in mine a few weeks ago. For the price ($175), it's great. Doesn't have CarPlay, though.

Yesterday the burb got all new shocks. Billstien 4600s all the way around. I put on wagner OEX pads on the front a couple of weeks ago, so I put them on the rears yesterday as well. Still atrocious ride, but its a 3/4 ton, so oh well lol

After I had the Suburban BB tuned, I asked Justin a few questions to clarify the details of the tune for my own knowledge. As well I thought it might be beneficial to anybody else wanting to know what the tune consisted of.

As I said with my Tahoe, and strictly my opinion, but if you are not sure about doing the BB tune either in person or via the AutoCal, just do it. This is one of the best $ mods you could do for your GM. I absolutely love having both trucks tuned and the Suburban reacts so much better after the tune.

1. Is the AFM deleted? --- Yes sir. AFM is a gimmick on a Suburban (and any full size vehicle of that generation) and potentially detrimental to engine longevity.

2. The tow/haul button is not part of this tune? --- Tow/haul button changes shift patterns only and is left as a towing mode due to the way the 6 speed transmission is controlled.

3. Tuned for 89, but 87 can be used if needed? --- It is possible, but best to never run 87. The factory tune is not "tuned" for 87, it requires 89 as well for optimal efficiency.

4. What is the torque management? --- All important TM is removed by default (engine TM). Transmission TM effectiveness is reduced slightly, but that impacts shift feel and timing only.

5. The shift points felt good. Firm but smooth and I saw the tach go up to 5500. --- At WOT, you should see around 5750/5900 depending on the gear you are in.

Replaced the rear upper and lower control arms. Had a weird squeak and was sure it was the control arms......come to find out it was the rear right spring seat. Hit it with some lithium grease and it’s gone. Well, at least I have all new rear controls arms now!

Figured out why the Tahoe was getting 11.6. It got tuned yesterday and we figured out it was using about 20% more fuel than it should’ve been. Disabled AFM, speed limiter and got a lot more power out of it on my way home I was getting 13.7

So just a tune straightened that out for you? What do you think it was?

So this just happened. Grrrr.

Went out to clean up the corrosion on the positive battery terminal this evening.

While trying to remove the positive cable from the post, the post pulled out.

So I need a new battery now.

Thoughts about a replacement?

It had an AC Delco 48HPG, 660CCA. I have access to all the auto parts stores.

Whoa Hulk! I put a XS Power D4800 in mine. The warranty is unsurpassed through sonic Electronixs and squaretrade and was only like $30 more than the big box stores. I didnt need it right away so it was no big deal to wait a few days as no stereo/custom shop had it locally.

AGM type batteries are the best option, they cost a little more but are more reliable. you can find them locally at sears, 4 drive shops, etc. most corner auto parts don't usually stock them

Odyssey what my 2nd choice if I couldnt get my XS Power in 3 days. They are hard to beat. The Sears Die Hard Platinum was my 3rd choice.

Good info guys. Odyssey and X2 Power are in stock near me as is the Optima Red Top.

I’ll pay a touch more for the wife to have the juice she needs at all times.
