What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I believe that would work but, I have no idea.. lol. I have research to do… if I could just do a longer stroke (assuming the bores are good), that would be ideal. Just need to keep a close eye on tolerances.

Bore it to 3.898" and use off-the-shelf LS1 parts, stock or forged depending on your end goal and budget. Also, you can drop in a 4" crank and have a 383. 4.8, 5.3 and 6.0 all use the same crank so you'd have to go aftermarket to get more cubes with a crank. It'll be fine at 6,000-6,500 RPM. It'll be an iron block LS1, so pretty much whatever an LS1 can take, yours should be able to handle a little more.

Bought me a Smoke Leak Tester and checked my Truck, just for fun, the engine runs perfect.
But I found an issue. :oops:
The O-ring a the oil dipstick was not tight any more. So swapped the O-Ring, now everything is perfect again.

I can recommend to everybody a Smoke Leak Tester. I have an BMW which made Problems since a long time and i found a big leakage in the intake system, i would never find by inspecting manually.

AC is out=(. IM hoping it's not a leak at the evap core under the dash or something ugly like that. HAD to get me an ac compressor just cause UAW on eminent strikes. Hoarding parts is also fun!! Hahaha
I'm almost done replacing the rear evap core. Went with an ACD unit and yes it was confirmed leaking. Probably pull a vacuum this afternoon and charge it back up. Came to grab some food

Got it done. Vac and charged. Blowing nice and cold again. I didn't install the new compressor or accumulator. Will probably do that sometime this winter. Will see. NOW I can install my new wheels tomorrow!!

Pic of the old rear evap. I charged it with r134+ UV die, for future leak hunting.

Also got a pac rp5-gm11 for a pioneer double din I got a few weeks back. Might install it Monday since I took a PTO day just cause.

This is what I did today :

After 338K, the original finally started causing some vibration above 65MPH.
I only had propane to melt that injected nylon, and what didn't leak out just laughed at my 12 ton press. Not to mention that the outer edge of the yoke had a high spot that the impact socket just wouldn't sit still with. I didn't want to take a socket to the junk, so to avoid that, I cut it into pieces and pressed out the 2 caps separately.
What I found odd was that the rear u-joint had a zerk fitting but the front one doesn't.
I am also thinking now that I need to mix up some epoxy to fill these holes where the nylon was injected.

You don’t have to fill the holes. Just clean up the inside where the new caps will fit and install the new ones.

Been looking for a set of these wheels for some time now. The 22s are nice, still have them but I prefer a bit more sidewall which is why I got these 20s. I need to wash and scrub them and hit the tires with some wetness. Probably pick up 4 new TPMs sensors and get them installed. Currently mounted without any and I don't like the TPMs light on.

Hopefully, I’ll be making some progress on two-toning my interior. I installed a black dashskin and threw in some black weather techs just to get things rolling. I’ll be working on painting the lower passenger side dash panel and glovebox this evening and i’m keeping an eye out for a black “oh shit” bar at my local salvage yards. Though, I’m not even sure if they made black ones other than the Esky which has a different dash…

Took her for a joyride today and a few errands, and dinner at Chipotle. It's probably the first time I've ridden in the passenger seat. It's no fun to be stuck at home and it's a real treat to get out and about. I have a little less than a month left in a cast, then I hope I can drive with a boot.

My youngest came over and helped me with some household stuff I can't do with the broken ankle, and we decided to exercise the Hoe. He commented on the E85 performance and had a big grin when he punched it.

NEW HU: Pioneer AVH 290BT with the Bose Premium system. Install went smooth except until I realized you have to trim some corners in the rear to clear the wider housing on the Pioneer HU to allow it to sit flush. The PAC harness is also difficult to snake around in the back to keep it from running into the back of the new HU.

Sound quality is good and I have adjusted the EQ on the new HU so suit my needs.
