What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Trucool 40k install today! I was supposed to be doing the rear brakes as well, but I’m waiting on the powder coated calipers anyway, so a couple more weeks will be fine.

I bought the factory trans cooler lines, and we followed the instructions found here, and on another site I probably shouldn’t mention here. Worked like a charm! My temps were too high for cool weather and no load on the trans. After looking in more detail at the trans information on the Tech2, finding no slips recorded, and the shift times rather reasonable, with 212k on it.. I decided I’d rather try to keep this trans going longer, so cooling it off is key.

I also installed some heat shield I bought from Summit on the lines near the trans side, since they’re really close to the headers. This is probably most of the reason I had temps too high for my liking. And of course I forgot to snap a pic of that.. it’s this stuff: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/vpe-25832

After driving around for about 15 minutes, I couldn’t get the temp over about 110° [emoji1787] guess it’s working well!! Looking forward to seeing where it goes in the heat of the summer.

Need more info on this, parts list, etc. Besides the obvious temp reduction n trans longevity anything else to gain?? I don't tow or anything like that.

Wish I could fit the 40k since you can plumb it with AN fittings and then go with braided lines but all I could fit was the 32k behind the lower grill opening because intercooler.

R&R left rear window motor and guide, also installed those 02 wipers. The drivers side could hit the hood when folded back but you just have to install the wiper arm higher (or high enough) when it's in parked position. For me the most troublesome wiper was the passenger when I wanted to clean it with a squeegee, so this "upgrade" is nice.

One thing I noticed is the biggest difference between passenger and drivers arms is the driver has 2 spray nozzles vs the passenger and they are slightly different bend at the end. I wonder if anyone has tried using driver side arms for both for more increased wiper fluid output, or if it is worth it?

If you have the original windshield, you can use this mark to line the wiper up for "parked position". Mine are right at the top of the line.

Mine has this as well, and it’s a replacement. I think pretty much all of the decent quality windshields have it

Depending on where you live, you don’t necessarily need this model with the bypass valve. In fact I bought this model, but currently, do not have the valve installed. Since the line still goes through the radiator, that will warm the trans fluid a bit. I also always park in the garage, and warm up in the cold weather with the remote start. I do plan to install it eventually, but did not want to add a bunch more rubber lines for that yet. Making sure she’s all good, with no leaks in the hard lines. So far looking great.

Also, I did not have a factory cooler. If you do, don’t necessarily need to buy any trans lines. The long one would already be there I believe, and the short one requires you to cut it, and rotate 180°, due to the additional width of the Trucool, compared with the factory cooler.

Today I attempted to LED swap my heated seat controls,got the passenger side finished but am having trouble identifying polarity for the driver side pedal controls. Heres what I got so far.

Also did the Esky Shift lever swap about a week ago,and along with smoking the back of my courtesy lights with ye olde Krylon satin black and threw some ice blue LEDs in.

I'm preparing to hack all that auto-level stuff out of my buddies Denali, you need any of the parts for spares or anything? It all works fine hes just going to coilovers and a mild lift setup.

I can’t think of anything I’d need. Mine has been replaced with Bilstein shocks and Arnott compressor and I just replaced all the air lines. Oh wait...the ride height sensor rods. I actually would like just the ends, the plastic parts that snap over the ball on the sensor but it’s probably easier to just send the whole rods. You could stick them in a USPS small box or padded envelope. If that’s cool I’ll send the postage. PM me and we can figure it out.

I believe they are OEM replacements with 35-55k on them. I will get pics next time I see it.

On another note... my backrest heater went out this week, which I use every day.. helps a lot with my back pain issues. So I’ve ordered the seat covers, and new heater elements for both the top and bottom. I already had the seat bottom foam, and it doesn’t look like anyone sells the backrest foam, so I’ll end up with an almost completely new driver seat.

Since I’ll be doing that, I figured I should replace this part that’s bugged me since day one owning the truck. It seems warped, or maybe improperly installed, but want to get a replacement. I’m having a heck of a time finding it!!

Any help would be very appreciated..!
