You think I need both the regulator and the motor or just the regulator because it is going up, just very slowly?

Going back my original post a few days ago. A few guys responded and thx. I had a chance to shoot a video in between the rain storms.

I started at the drivers side front and went clockwise to end up at the actual troubled rear drivers side window, which I originally posted about but did not explain well enough.

Engine is on. Down and up and you can hear the switch clicking each time I touch it on all the windows. So likely not the switches.

Bit of dimming and slight drop in the battery volts when holding the switch of one window or more so with multiple switches, e.g. both front windows.

Towards the end of the video you will hear the drivers rear window dogging it and very slow coming all the way up, even though it of course is only half way down.

I’m thinking that one regulator is going out based on the sound and lack of performance?

AC Delco, Dorman or other to replace?

Alternator and battery seems ok? Holds a steady charge and all other lights and functions are bright and steady.

Any further advice or thoughts are welcomed. Thx.

Yeah, my lights dim when rolling down 2 windows even with overdriven 140a alt and big 4 upgrade. If you have no other issues I wouldnt be looking at that.

Though its a good idea anyways to do the big 3/4

nope. regulator is actually the track/arms that do the scissor lift motion. i even have regulators on my '50

These damn window regulator assemblies don't last for shit. In the 12 years that I have owned my Suburban, I have replaced all 4 of them, and both driver's side twice now. Actually make that 3 times on my front driver's door because it was replaced under warranty not long after i first bought my truck. And EVERY time I replaced one, the window motor was still good but the regulator was all jacked up. The cables get jammed or else the plastic "bushings" at the end of the cables seem to crack easily and that causes the cable to bind up or even break.

When I bought my 03, the front passenger side wouldn't go down, the cable was shredded, but not completely broken. It was oem.

Interesting. Never had an issue with my 03 or 05. Think they changed them for the later models?

I've used both. I know the one replaced under warranty, and the first one I replaced myself were both AC Delco, as well as both rear door regulators. I replaced both rear door regulators around 2009, and back then AC Delco was the only ones available. Aftermarket regulators we're only available for the front doors. But now that I found that Dorman makes them for all four doors, and add that to the fact that the Delco regulators failed in less than 3 years, I just started buying Dorman units now. I do still have some good motors laying around somewhere too.
Also, in case you guys didn't know, the motors are the same front to rear even though the regulators are different. But they are side specific. A driver's side motor will fit the front AND rear regulator.

I'm not sure. About a week ago one day my ds window stopped working. Both front windows always rolled up slow ever sinve I bough the truck. (Wonder if the ps is on its way out too.) But all other windows work off the Switch so I'm guessing it's not the switch but the regulator. I've heard it's a very common issue with nbs trucks. But either way I need one or the other or both motor or regulator?
