Are you sure it's not from 1993? Mines in my hu but I've never even played a DVD.

Yea I'm not sure how his is set up. He plays dvds in the player under the seat but controls it in his head unit. Rear tv is factory too.

I just now noticed that all his metal seat brackets are painted to match.

Got 4600s installed in the front with resistors. No warnings yet...

Also installed my steering damper finally!

The escalade feels great!

******* found some torn boots on my uca ball joint and on my outer tie rod end though which pisses me off because they only have 10k miles on them and this escalade is stock ride height! ********. Both acdelco advantage parts. I learned my lesson... Moog problem solver or pro series Delco only.

So my ball joints feel ok and no clunking. Might try just replacing the boots for now since i dont want to have to deal with getting another alignment.

Ok so I was givin the wrong info from my brother. He thought I meant something else, and we were both confused. Anyway I was able to get a chance to look at his. He has the trim pieces for the captains chairs but they're different and will not fit the bench.
So I'm assuming esky and nali have the trim pieces stock and are also interchangeable.

my project for the weekend was cleaning around the spare. i took out the spare, cleaned it, painted it black again, and then painted the axle and some of the frame with rust reformer

There's nothing to do this time of year, so my motivation to work on the truck sky rockets. Same with everyone else around here. Come summer time we get to show off what we've been working on in our garages all winter

Well, my truck hasn't even moved since Thursday. Parked that ***** after I got home from eating Thanksgiving dinner at the in-laws, and haven't even left the house since. Hell, I am still full. lol!!

I drove both trucks, but did nothing to them. I did lay under the Tahoe just to have a visual. Rain is coming, so not even a wash.

Put the xmas lights up and we did some massive yard work. Put the new mower to use and edged, pulled weeds, trimmed plants, cleaned out the garden shed and leveled the floor.

Used the rental Suburban to move that rock about 200 feet across the front yard to its new home.

Then my father-in-law was in charge of planting a few flats of vincas at the direction of the mothers. Still need to mulch and do some tidy up around the yard, but it is looking sweet!

Sat back in the front of the house with him before dinner, had a beer, chatted and admired the yard, lights, family and both trucks and how nice they were.

Used the plywood as skids to not wreck the grass or driveway. FIL there checking progress.

I haven't been the same since then. Hell, sometimes I need help just putting my shoes and socks on. Trust me, you don't ever want to get back surgery unless your life depends on it. Now I have metal rods in my back for the rest of my life.

Yea that doesn't look like a good time. I come from family of blue collars. Almost all of my uncle's have major back and neck problems, all job related working in the 70s and 80s where there were no safety regulations. I see their pain that they have to live with for the rest of their lives, I couldn't imagine.

I knew you had some serious back issues but I never knew it was that severe. All I can say is wow. That's some serious hardware, and on your spine no less.

Yeah, I have had back issues for YEARS but I tried everything I could to avoid surgery. I had countless epidural steroid injections and nerve root block injections in my back over the last 10 years. I've been to Chiropractors, Physical Therapists, Spine Surgeons, Orthopedic surgeons, and Neurosurgeons. They all kept telling me that I was going to need surgery at some point. I even had weight loss surgery to try and see if getting the weight off would help with my back pain. I lost over 100 pounds ( I was almost 340lbs at my heaviest) and even though I feel better overall with the weight off, my back didn't get one bit better. But it was a huge weight off my shoulders losing a hundred pounds. Think about it like this, try carrying two 50lb bags of dog food ALL day everywhere you go. That's how much extra weight I was lugging around. And even though I am still overweight, I am a LOT better than I was. I can climb a flight of stairs and not get winded now. Before, I would be huffing and puffing like the big bad wolf after I climbed up a flight of stairs.
But back to my back surgery, what was the final straw was one day the nerve pain traveled to my entire groin area. It LITERALLY felt like Chuck Norris kicked me in my balls. And the pain was constant, all day and all night. That's when I said Fuckit let's do the surgery. I was in so much pain that I was drinking vodka and rum to get drunk and pass out. Thankfully the surgery did eliminate most of the bad nerve pain, but my actual lover back pain still isn't one bit better. All I can do is just learn to live with it. I've had to adjust my lifestyle and I realized that I can no longer do certain things or else I need some help with it. Hell, I sometimes need help just getting my socks and shoes on. Because the three lowest vertebrae are now permanently fused together and screwed together, I have a lot of trouble bending over or simply reaching my feet.
It also affected the way I work on my truck. I can no longer do a project in an afternoon, it takes me two or three days now. I should have been able to do my fuel pump in a few hours, but it actually took me two days. After I got the tank off and the old pump out the tank, I installed the new pump in the tank and I had to call it a day. I then installed the tank back into the truck the following day with assistance from my 18yr old son.

Man that sux. I'e had back pain for years. Nothing even remotely close to your pain, thank God. I'e worked out for years, and when I was younger I thought I could lift anything. I'm paying for it now. I have 2 herniated discs in my back. I hope I never get as bad as you are.

Mine started as mild Scoliosis, two herniated discs, AND degenerative disc disease. But over the years it ended up getting worse instead of better.
But if you can tolerate your pain, then just DO THAT. Don't get surgery unless you are to the point where you can't walk or something like that. I'd avoid it at all costs. Yes, I'm somewhat better, but the pain of the surgery itself and the recovery... Worst pain of my life!!! I had to use an old lady walker for like 2-3 months and learn how to walk again. Then I was on a cane for at least another 3 months after that. That shit was HELL!
